Rebecca's POV (1st Person):
I awoke with a start, feeling the warmth of the sun gently caressing my face. As I shifted in my bed, a wet sensation on my thighs brought me out of my drowsy state. My eyes widened in realisation as I remembered the reason for the unexpected dampness – my period. How could I have forgotten? "Oh, no," I muttered to myself, frustration coursing through me as I quickly pulled myself out of bed.
Glancing down at the stained sheets, a wave of panic surged through me. I hastily grabbed a clean towel to cover up the evidence of my carelessness, my heart pounding in embarrassment. In a rush, I made my way to the shower, throwing on my nightgown before stepping beneath the warm spray of water to clean myself.
After showering, I made my way to my big sister's room, the embarrassment still lingering. I timidly knocked on her door, feeling slightly mortified. "Um, hey...do you happen to have any pads?" I asked, my voice low with reluctance.
My sister, always a pillar of support, frowned sympathetically. "I'm sorry, I ran out. How about wearing an extra pair of undies and changing at school?" she suggested, her gentle tone trying to ease the awkwardness of the situation.
Nodding gratefully, I quickly retreated to my room, making sure to pack extra underwear in my school bag. As I dressed, my mind raced with thoughts of the day ahead, the unexpected hiccup of my period throwing my morning routine into disarray. But I refused to let it dampen my spirits as I prepared for the challenges of the day.
With my bags in tow, I joined my family in the car, the familiar morning chaos surrounding us. My mother, absorbed in tending to my little sister's needs, seemed oblivious to the minor crisis I had just faced. As we journeyed towards the school, the anticipation of the day ahead filled me with a mix of nerves and determination.
The school building loomed into view, a beacon of new beginnings and fresh opportunities. With a deep breath, I gathered my resolve, ready to face whatever the day had in store for me. The morning had thrown me a curveball, but I was determined to tackle it head-on, armed with resilience and a newfound sense of empowerment
