Lu Gang kept waiting for (Y/N) to respond, but all she could do was look at her feet, attempting to piece together an explanation for her disappearance from the mess in her mind.
(Y/N) took a big breath and opened her mouth to speak, but she stopped as soon as she heard the door slam open.
When she heard the door open, she nearly stopped breathing, praying it was anyone other than the person she was looking for. She glanced toward the door to see who had come inside, and so did Lu gang.
When the girl at the door saw (Y/N) in front of her, her face was filled with bewilderment and shock. It was Q̶i̶a̶o̶ ̶L̶i̶n̶g̶ who had violently opened the door, and (Y/N) let out a huge sigh of relief upon seeing it was not Cheng Xiaoshi.
Q̶i̶a̶o̶ ̶L̶i̶n̶g̶ stared at the girl before slowly walking toward where she sat and standing in front of her with an unreadable expression on her face.
".....It's you" her voice was full of desperation.
"..."
She was at a loss for words. She used to be close to Q̶i̶a̶o̶ ̶L̶i̶n̶g̶ , which meant that she would undoubtedly be confused about why she had left without informing anyone if she were in her current position.
But... She never expected her to sound so desperate. Her tone gave the impression that she had done her something awful.
After giving the girl a long, hard stare, Q̶i̶a̶o̶ ̶L̶i̶n̶g̶ turned to face Lu Guang, who was watching (Y/N) to see her reaction. Taking a breath, Q̶i̶a̶o̶ ̶L̶i̶n̶g̶ asked him,
"... Did u call her here?"
Lu Guang stared at her in confusion as he widened his eyes in realization just as she said that. Before he could say anything further, (Y/N) spoke at last.
"I came here on my own," she responded, looking at nothing in particular.
Q̶i̶a̶o̶ ̶L̶i̶n̶g̶ sighed "For what reason...? (Y/N)"
