Your hair was dripping wet. Tiny water droplets trickled down your neck. You had just taken a shower after coming home.

You were humming a random song and messaging Rin again.

No response as usual.

"Sis! There is a letter for you!" Your brother jumped up and down and waved a white letter as he broke through the door. 

"Huh?" You looked at the letter as you took it from his tiny hands.

"It was near the door, so I picked it up~" he smiled up at you expecting praise from your mouth.

"Thanks" you said, leaning down to his height and ruffling his hair. 

"Until I finish reading this, why don't you go prepare the plates? let's also watch a movie that you like~!" 

With a beaming smile, your brother eagerly nodded his head and hurried to the kitchen.

You laughed before looking at the letter.

And opened it.

You paused. Seeing, the familiar handwriting of your friend.

The one who hadn't been responding to you for a while.

Your eyes grew wide as you quickly tore the envelope. A sensation of dread began to bubbling in your stomach.

'N-No way'

You clutched the pure white letter in your hands as you read it.

Your brother was singing a nursery rhyme happily in the kitchen, while placing the plates on the table.

Oh to be blissfully unaware.

With that the cherry blossoms withered away.

"Why do you smile?" Rin looked at you, her eyes lacking the familiar warmth.

"That's a heavy question" you blinked at her, a bit surprised.

She shrugged, waiting for your response. The cold wind hitting her face.

"... I smile because tomorrow is something I look forward to"

"Tomorrow?..."

"Tomorrow where I can see all of you!"

The girl looked at you. And she looked away with a sour smile, biting her lip as she gazed down at the concrete.

"Tomorrow....ah I see" her voice broke.

'What if I can't see my tomorrow?'

"Why do you smile Rin?" you tilted your head, unaware of her inner turmoil.

"ah... I don't know" Rin gave you a sheepish look.

You blinked.
"but you have such a pretty smile"

The girl froze, staring into your eyes. 

She felt like laughing. 

Her smile? Pretty?  Of course it was.

 She had carefully crafted it. But sometimes she found it slipping. Her carefully constructed façade.

Especially when she was with you.

"I'm glad you like it"

'... Why does everything hurt so much'

Her obviously fake smile. 

The one she despised. 

You liked it.

You both gazed up at the blue sky. Rin closed her eyes letting the wind hit her face. A sigh left her lips.

1. Usually as (Y/N)'s parents aren't home, her brother and her binge any show that is currently streaming.

2. Rin is one of the top scorers in her class, but for the past few years her grades have been slipping juuuuust a little.
