The cool breeze hit the black haired boy's face. He stood in front of your house, his eyes dull.

He rang the doorbell again.

And again.

And again.

Again.

Again.

Again.

Again.

How many times was it till now?

He tilted his head up to the sky watching as the sun set in the horizon, a warm orange hue illuminated the streets.

He looked back to the door in front of him, his hands fell from the doorbell to his sides. He turned around leaning his back on the door and he slumped down on the ground.

Closing his eyes, letting the warmth hit his face. His breath soft.

The sun had already set. People looked at him weirdly. Yet he didn't care. He waited, waited for you to open the door.

'I will.... Convince.... You.... (Y/N)'

He felt his eyes closing. He was exhausted. His eyes were red and puffy, a clear sign he had been crying.

'... I just....... Want to.......'

His head now rested firmly on the wooden door, his legs crossed, his arms on his lap.

' see you again....'

The white clouds were fascinating to your brother. Despite his obvious sadness, he was gazing at them through the airplane window in wonder.

It was the first time he had been in an airplane.

And probably the last time he would see his hometown from the skies.

Your body sank on the seat, your eyes closing.

'Finnaly... I-'

You bit down on your lip, you can't Cry. You shouldn't cry. You deserve this. All this was your fault. This pain, is the only way you can make up for your mistakes.

This is how you convinced yourself.

You looked at you phone, his number on the top of your contacts.

Your hands shook, oh how it hurt.

It broke you. You felt like dying. This was it. With this you will never be able to see or contact him again.

Your fingers reached towards the delete button. You pressed it.

The air was suffocating, you could feel yourself drowning bit by bit.

Your brother exclaimed in awe as he saw the stars shine in the dark sky.

You never looked at them.

Nevertheless you felt tears stream out your eyes.

"Cheng Xiaoshi wake up" a calm voice called out to the sleeping boy. Yet one could hear the pure worry laced in his tone.

Cheng Xiaoshi groggily opened his eyes, looking up at the owner of the voice. "Lu?"
He breathed out.

"Have you been sitting here since the morning?" the boy looked down at his friend with seeming indifference.

Cheng Xiaoshi looked away, his hands awkwardly on his neck. "Heh~ I was waiting for (Y/N) "

He smiled at his friend. Oh the smile. So painful to look at. So fake. So broken.

Yet he smiled.

The last thing he wanted was to worry his best friend.

"..." Lu Guang didn't say anything. He sighed and sat down on the ground next to him, he could see the shock in Cheng Xiaoshi's eyes.

"Will she come back though?" he spoke softly.

"She will" he looked up at the bright stars.
But he hesitated, deep down he knew. It was obvious. Your phone number had changed, no one was occupying the house, your absence from school.

It was obvious.

Yet he hoped.

For a miracle.

Like a fucking idiot.

That's what he felt in this moment.

A fucking idiot.

Yet he still endlessly prayed, that you would come back. With your bright smile, laughing on how it was all a joke.

So he waited.

Lu Guang sighed again, yet he didn't scold him, he stayed silent.

"I'll stay with you, till you're ready to come home"

In that moment,

His words,

Just made Cheng Xiaoshi want to cry again.

He leaned his head on Lu Guang's shoulders as both of them watched the stars in the sky.

They were so bright.

He kept gazing at them, till they started fading away.

Until they were no longer seen in the morning sky.
