"Ahhh why does math's exist" Biting into the back of his pencil, Cheng Xiaoshi groaned and ran a hand through his hair in exasperation.
Not answering him, you simply laid your head on the bed already given up.
The other day, he had suggested that both of you study for the midterms together. Which is why here you both were, in your room, practically a corpse.
"... Why did you want to study with me" you asked softly to Cheng Xiaoshi who was cursing at the book in front of him.
"What do you mean" he stopped and looked up at you.
"Arent you supposed to study with someone who is smart" you sighed as you sat up on the bed with yr legs crossed.
"I'm stupid at math" you said bluntly.
"Same" he returned your gaze with equal seriousness.
Both if you looked at each other for a while yet couldn't think of anything to say. It was awfully clear that neither of you were here to learn.
You just wanted to be by each other's side.
"We really are stupid aren't we" he hummed as he closed his book.
He got up and walked to the bed where you sat.
He leaned his back on the bed and gazed up at your room's ceiling.
"Hey..." With his eyes still fixed on the ceiling above, he began softly.
"We are dating right"
You leaned over him, your face above his, and grinned a little. He looked cute below you.
"Yep"
"That means I can do this~" He grabbed your wrist and pinned you to the mattress in a swift motion. You were staring up at him before you knew it.
The air around you felt hot all of a sudden, as if time had stopped suddenly so you could absorb this moment. His one hand was moving down your lips while the other was wrapped around your wrists.
None of you spoke, the only sound heard was of the ticking of the clock in the foreground.
He leaned towards you slowly.
And you closed your eyes. . . . . .
However, he abruptly stopped and stood up, moving away from you. He got to his feet, grinning mischievously as he gazed at you.
"We should study." He smiled sweetly at you and sat down on the floor, where the books were arranged on the table.
You slowly stood up and stared at him, momentarily stunned. Before you knew it, annoyance quickly crept over your face.
"Study yourself" you glared at him, grabbing a pillow sitting nearby and throwing it towards him.
He caught it with ease, leaning his head on it as he laughed.
"I never knew my girlfriend could make such a cute expression" he looked up at you teasingly.
Upon seeing your refusal to talk to him he couldn't help but laugh more.
"Come on I was just joking"
But no matter the times he tried to coax you into forgiving him, you didn't budge. It was mainly because you felt embarrassed. How dare he pretend to kiss you leave!?
He sighed at you and at your silent treatment. It was amusing to him at first, but he didn't like seeing you angry at him.
No matter how cute you looked.
"Look behind you there is a spider" his eyes widened, pointing to the wall behind you.
"What where?" you turned your face around to the wall, a little panicked.
And before you knew it,
A soft sensation graced your cheeks. Your eyes widened as you felt a comfortable presence beside you.
'Cheng Xiaoshi...'
The boys lips touched your cheek with so much softness yet it carried so much warmth.
In the moment you had turned you head, he had got up and wrapped his hand around your neck, pressing his lips on your cheek gently.
You tilted your head up, looking into his eyes. Somewhat speechless. He looked at you back, perhaps contemplating what he should do next.
No matter how confident he always sounded, deep down he was a mess. When it came to you his mind always seemed to stop working.
"I-" the boy was about to speak but was abruptly cut off.
You raised your hand up to his neck, and without a word being uttered, you pulled him towards you on the bed.
Closing your eyes, you pressed your lips on his with all the warmth your body could muster in that moment, you kissed him.
He blinked.
But without a second being wasted,
He kissed you back.
