Those who didn't understand, this whole book was the first time line or the first time Lu Guang found Cheng Xiaoshi dead.

As how he died is still not reveled officially, I kept it very hazy.

One of the reason for Cheng Xiaoshi's pain was well.... You, so as a way to shield him Lu Guang unconsciously never allowed you both to meet.

As we know in many timelines Lu Guang tried to save Cheng Xiaoshi so after a point...he was so invested in saving his friend he forgot about everything but him.

So after the ending of this story starts the actual link click story line.

As I said in the start, this story was set in the past. You were with him in the past, but you disappeared in his future.

I had thought of another ending, were you were present during his death, but the actual ending wouldn't change even then, you would willingly allow Lu Guang to go back to the past. As even you wished to find a way for Cheng Xiaoshi to live.

But I thought this ending was a bit more realistic. Even if you love a person a lot you can't be there in each moment of their life, and for their death. Not knowing what actually happened to Cheng Xiaoshi was cruel but, considering you left him for so long which caused him suffering, it was appropriate I thought.

If it helps, Cheng Xiaoshi not remembering you was already decided from the start.

Hence the name of the book.

This was the first book I ever wrote, and it really holds a special place in my heart. There were times were I was unmotivated or cringing at the story... Nevertheless I still thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Thank you too all those who supported me throughout the story, you guys really are my sole motivation.

Some extra tit bits

My favorite in the show was actually Lu Guang at first 🤣🤣 but I got this idea of the past and present thing while I was in my class studying... I fell in love with the idea and thought Xiaoshi was perfect for it. And as continued watching link click, and write this story... I came to love this mess of a guy. Sorry Lu Guang but yr bestie replaced u.

Writing this fanfic has been my literal test of patience. Little by little as you guys started reading this book.. Even if it were a few I just felt so happy that someone was reading it.

It isn't a great book I'm sure it has many loopholes, and the grammar is a little shit. BUT thank you for taking the time to read it.
