Rin sighed and stared at the sky while waiting for 4 pm to arrive. This was the most sensible option because her mother would never have let her leave if she had gone home.

So here she was, sitting on the sidewalk.

 

"Are you a beggar now?" A simple voice disturbed her tranquility. She raised her head to see a tall, white-haired man looking down at her.

 

"Lu Guang?" She sounded confused when she spoke.

 

The boy blinked in response. Holding out one hand to her, he clutched groceries in the other.

 

"The sidewalk is dirty, get up," his words were harsh, but his intentions were pure.

 

She shook her head slowly "It's okay, but um, thanks."

"Then, Mind telling me why you are sitting on the sidewalk"

"... I am merely resting"

 

She knew he didn't believe her, and she nervously avoided his gaze.

 

The unadorned voice spoke once more, "I won't push it further if you don't want to tell me."

Silently, he searched in his plastic bag for something. He set down an unopened can of a drink... and sat next to Rin, sipping from his own can.

 

"Till u feel like you've 'rested enough'" He took a sip of his drink and then turned his head to her "I'll keep you company"

"What on earth are you two doing on the sidewalk?" When Cheng Xiaoshi noticed a familiar color of hair nearby, he hurried up to them.

He was searching for Lu Guang who had been away to get groceries, interestingly he had not returned.

He paused in front of the two teens, who were idly sipping soda from a can. He raised an eyebrow, questioning his best friend.

"Are the two of you idiots?" He was amused by the whole occurrence and laughed mockingly at them. 

"That is something coming from you," Lu Guang said, leaning back and gazing up at his friend. 

"Hah? Are you insulting me?" With a tone full of faux offense, Cheng Xiaoshi glared at his white-haired friend. "I'm wounded" He sighed dramatically, placing a hand on his head.

Secretly hoping that (Y/N) would come to her rescue, Rin watched the entire farce. When the argument had finally been put on hold, Cheng Xiaoshi turned to face the girl.

"Btw Rin, what are you doing here? I remember that (Y/N) texted me saying that you two were going out." With a hint of worry, Cheng Xiaoshi questioned her. 

By now, it was already 3:45. Rin's eyes widened as she looked at the time on her phone, "Shit! it's already so late." She got up and started hurrying away from them in the hopes that she would make it to the arcade in time.

"I'll see you later" she yelled out waving goodbye.

With great enthusiasm, Cheng Xiaoshi yelled back, "Say hi to (Y/N) from me!" He was all smiles, already thinking about his girlfriend.

Lu Guang however just gave the sprinting girl a fleeting look before glancing at his idiot of a friend. "You both are dating now?"

With a smug smile, Cheng Xiaoshi put his hand over Lu Guang's shoulder and spoke.

"Yep!~" He replied. "Ahhh, she's so cute," he said as he went on to talk incoherently about his perfect girlfriend.

Though Lu Guang appeared impassive, he was actually very happy for his friend.

While he knew that Cheng Xiaoshi was often laughing around his friends, with you it seemed...much more... dazzling.  Even just talking about you brought that radiant smile to his face. 

He truly loved you.

In the past

and the in the present.

He loved the girl,

who broke his heart.

FUN FACT!!!

1.Lu guang lost rock paper scissors so he had to go out and bring snacks for Cheng Xiaoshi

2. Rin wasn't much familiar with the two boys but from their little interaction, she understood why (Y/N) liked them so much
