i stood in line to board my flight, clenching the book that held a small news article i had ripped from a news paper earlier. it sat between the pages

as i handed the ticket back home, i tried her hardest looking away. hoping nobody around would recongnize a glance of her body

sitting in my seat, i cracked open the pages of my book. then there the article fell onto my lap, nearly making me want to sob again

ᴀɴɢᴇʟɪᴄᴀ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴀʏ ɢᴇᴛ ᴅɪᴠᴏʀᴄᴇᴅ?

new york's prettiest face, angelica only at seventeen married and got divorced to the famous actor ray. she had apparently caught him cheating with a woman more around his age, i guess this what happens when you're seventeen. people thought they were in love because of her small role on BIGGEST LIAR and their iconic making love scene. angelica has been not in sight of the public eye for the past two months, reports say she's taking a break. but who knows when she'll come back? she has kept her last name a secret from the world since she begun this career. i doubt reports will find out where she is. speaking of angelica, her newest cover with PLAYBOY has been off the shelfs! maybe she'll come back on the next cover of PLAYBOY with another man

i wasn't upset of the fact of ray cheating, i was forced into the marriage. i was upset of my career. i only took the offer at sixteen when i happened to move to new york. the thought of leaving tusla and getting money sounded nice at first

i knew if came back to new york without tugging onto another man's arm, hollywood and the world would think i was hopeless

i knew once i landed myself back in tusla, i needed to talk to my really good friend, my neighbour about the whole issue and what to do

"steve's where?" i asked his father who was blocking the door, he couldn't recognize you one bit

"evie, the dx" he groaned, before slamming the door

steve's dad had called her evie. i had no clue who evie happened to be, even though steve and i kept in contact, girls were never mention

walking away from steve's home, i walked down the streets hoping to find the dx. i'd use to go the dx when i was younger with steve and his best friend sodapop. them and i would all go into the corner store there, get candy, and the boys would admirer the cars getting fix

i was first confused and stunned why steve would still be hanging around the dx, i thought he'd enjoy partying or going to those drag races him and soda would rant about

as i approched the familar building, it reminded me of old times. when i didn't need to be worrying about the public eye

as i went inside, hoping steve was there i saw two familar boys at the counter. too familar

one of them was movie star appealing, he could've taken ray's place in movies and people would still go crazy. his black hair was combed back and he wore a dx hat

the one besides him had steve's eyes, steve's...

"holy shit that's steve!" i thoughts crossed your mind before approaching the counter

"how may i help-" steve froze, his face went pale like he'd seen a ghost

the boy with him turned around and laughed. "is that you, angelica?"

i read his name tag. "soda! it's been a while..."

"hows new york?" steve asked, curious

"i'm leaving my new york life behind"

soda and steve were confused, thinking why I would leave such a luxurious life

"is it because of ray?" soda raised an eyebrow. "we saw it in a newspaper"

"ray was stupid" i admitted. "i hate being a model. i regret saying yes, but now people believe i'm a heartbroken girl"

"aren't you?" steve laughed

"quit joking" i sighed. "i'm staying back home with my aunt, but i'm never going back to new york"

"they're going to find out" soda told you, he wasn't lying

i huffed. "i just need a way where i can maybe have a better reason than dropping my carrer by moving back here"

"you dropped out of school right?" soda asked, you knew he did

"yeah..." i regretted that decision the most. "what if i found someone to get with and somewhat elope. so then they believe i've moved on"

"no man is going to elope that quickly with you angelica" steve rolled his eyes

i looked down. "the marriage will be fake, then i'll be free"

"angelica no is going to believe you married an average boy" soda expressed, leaning against the wall

my lips formed into a smile. "who said he needs to be an average boy?" i begun explaining who i needed. "i just need someone who's reckless and can easily get everyone's attention, i just need one photo to be sent to papers and explaining a fake story"

"y/n this whole town is filled with hoodlums" soda scoffed

"that's why i came here!" i smacked the back of his head, trying to knock some sense into him

"you'll find what you're looking for at rodeos, drag races, and parties" steve explained, trying to help your hopeless self

"i'll go to a party tonight" i expressed. "i'll convince some boy to fake a marriage and get a news article out"
