my legs were crossed in the passenger seat of sodapop's car. i applied my lipstick, looking through my hand held mirror

soda insisted on taking me to the nightly party at buck's tonight. i hadn't seen dally since the fight. dally told me to leave last night which i did, but i could tell how much hatred he had for the boy that's as wounded and curl up in the sand last night

i told soda the whole issue from the other night, soda say not to think hard upon it and just to 'admit' to dally my feelings tonight

"angelica just tell dally you like him" soda shrugged. "getting into a relationship with dal is hard. his relationship are all friends with benefits type of shit. so you gotta understand that" he paused. "but seeing how dally is acting to you, he seems like he cares"

i scoffed by what soda had just said. dally wasn't going to change how he was in relationships no matter who it is or was

I parted my lips. "so...since it's dally's birthday should i make it a big deal or..."

"angel trust" soda eyes were focus on the road, he didn't look away but straight. "dallas ain't big on his birthday, but being icing to him tonight would mean a lot"

"i guess so" i sighed, thinking things through

i knew faking my love for dally wouldn't be hard at all, but for some odd reason i felt this aching pain in my chest of the thought of hurting him like that. but then again from what all my friends had told me, dally didn't really have feelings nor cared at all. if i even properly dated dallas it wouldn't last long

soda made a right, his attention then went towards me. "angelica have you met anyone new here besides dally?"

"well of course johnny and two-bit" i expressed. "but kathy, two-bit's girl is really sweet. i told her about everything that's been going on"

"kathy..." soda mumbled, trying to see if her name sounded familiar. "sorry i can't remember her, two-bit has been with too many girls"

that made me laugh, maybe two-bit was talking to someone else last night

"so soda do you pick up fights often like dally?" i questioned, nudging his elbow

"hey no hitting the driver!" he yelped. "but no. nothing like dally. dally is a true hoodlum for all those fights"

"wow..." i murmured, i thought all of them enjoyed fighting lots and lots just like dally

"i fight mainly for fun" soda explained, he honked his horn at the slow truck driver ahead. "maybe at a drag race i'll pick up a fight or two for just for the fun out of it. but dallas, he fights when he does something messed up or if someone else does something wrong"

soda's words stuck to me. the two times dally mentioned him in a fight, someone had did something to harm me. once for spiking my drink, another for talking rudely to me

"thinking hard about something angelica?" soda grinned sarcastically

"nothing at all..."

as the drive went on, soda and i continued to laugh, enjoying our time together. i hadn't talk to soda like that then the day at the beach with kathy, soda's dark brown hair fell to his eyes, his flannel was bright and vibrant just like he was

soda parked far away from buck's llace, he knew someone would try to key their car and drive away. soda held the keys right in his palm, he knew if the car got stolen darry wouldn't allow him out again

as soda and i walked through the door, the music was blaring. people laughed and chuckled as they got boozed

soda eyed a girl from afar, i always saw her come by the dx to flirt with soda and steve. she winked, telling sodapop to come. soda gave her a sheepish smile. soda made his way to her, leaving me behind

i walked up the stairs, going to the top floor filled with reckless teens doing the most outrageous things. i looked down the hall, recognizing the door to dallas room

my cheeks flushed to pink, i couldn't tell if i was embarrassed to ask dally or if i was in love with dally and wanted our relationship to be real

my hand rested on the door knob, my stomach twisted into knots and got butterflies. the nervous feeling of just opening the door and seeing dally got to my head

my body relaxed, not being so tense. i twisted dally's knob open, "dally i need to talk to—"

my eyes trembled, staring at dally's body over sylvia's. his hands were between her locks of hair, dally's necklace hung over her chest area, her heels were kicked off onto the ground, alongside her dress

dally looked up, he stared at me, seeing how i gently let go of the door handel

"angelica..."

i didn't say a word, i didn't need to say anything

my eyes swelled, tears formed in my eyes. i can't cry because i didn't love dally and he didn't love me

but i cried a small, sorrow sob. i knew i had fallen for dallas winston. but i knew how hurt i was going to get

i went down the stairs, i heard dally behind me. he held a beer bottle in one of his hands

"angelica!" dally yelled over the music, he stopped me between the steps

i looked away, i couldn't see him right now

"fuck angelica..." he smelled heavily of alcohol, more than usual. "she just walked in my room and—"

"and?" i raised an eyebrow, giving him a hurtful look

dally grabbed onto my arms, he tried to consult me. "angelica i don't love sylvia i love you!"

"dally if you still love sylvia it's okay..." i wiped away the tears i had shed, i felt dumbfounded reacting the way i was

i let go of his grip, walking away from him and wanting to be home

"baby please!" he leaned against the stairs, begging and unsteady. "i fucking love you!"

i left buck's without responding to dally. i knew dally was drunk and didn't mean his words. dally only fought the boy last night for sylvia, he fought him because he cheated with sylvia

dally stormed out of the house, his words trembling. "angelica! what you saw didn't mean anything!"

i ignored his words, steve and soda warned me about getting hurt and i knew now i can't pretend i wasn't hurt
