"You and the queen seem to be getting along now." Dorcas spoke as she and the princess walked in the hallway. Rhaenyra glanced at her, thinking if she and the queen are really starting to come in good terms.
But it was only just for a moment-
but it was still a stepping stone-
Rhaenyra battled into her mind. She shook her head and sighed that the blonde didn't fail to detect.
"Is something wrong?" She asked. The princess was taken aback that she had to take a deep breath before shaking her head at her friend, "No.. no, there isn't." She forced a smile and continued their way to the princess' chambers where they both used to sleep on as a kid whenever the princess would invite the dear blonde.
"I think that it was only in the moment. We happened to be on the same page earlier today." The princess spoke.
"Well that is a stepping stone." Dorcas replied just like what the princess was thinking, a stepping stone. Could it be the start of a new friendship and new future with the acceptance of each other? Rhaenyra didn't reply until the princess' chamber was on their sight.
They both entered the room and Dorcas happily slumped herself onto the purple eyed girl's big bed. "Alaric and I had a chat. He said that the Lord Caspain, Ser Julius' son is very observant of you."
Rhaenyra walked towards her wardrobe and opened it, "What do you mean?"
Dorcas sighed, "He thinks that the young man likes you."
Rhaenyra's eyes flushed up from looking down on her picked dress that she's currently holding, she paused for a moment, "gods be good, he and the queen thought about the same thing then." She scoffed, turning around with the dress she's holding.
Dorcas shrugged, "I also happen to think that Alaric really likes you." This statement caused Rhaenyra to roll her eyes and chuckle at her friend. She walked towards the bed to place the dress on the sheet. "Goodness, that too. You and the queen." She eyed her friend.
"Why not give him a chance, princess?" Her friend giggled,
"Are you serious? I cannot reciprocate the boy's feelings even if that were true." Rhaenyra replied.
"Why? Is it because you think so low of them? A knight is for a knight and a high monarchy is for the monarchs." Dorcas replied.
Rhaenyra sighed and went to the table to remove her accessories, "It isn't that, Dorcas."
Dorcas gasped dramatically on the bed, "Or maybe.. you've got your eyes on Lord Caspain!"
"Minimize your voice, dove, if someone hears it they might think of it as true." The princess scolded. She leaned into the mirror while removing her earrings and then gave her friend a glance on the reflection of the glass in front of her. "It isn't. I have no romantic feelings towards them."
"Well, what then? Come to think of it, we have been friends for years but you never told me of any man that has taken your liking. Am I even your dear friend at all? Have you replaced me with another?" Dorcas tried to hide her whining in her tone.
Rhaenyra leaned back and looked behind her to give Dorcas a good look, "No, you are my friend. My only dearest friend. And I haven't told you about any men that I like because It's just that I've known lots of men in this court that fathers a ton of bastards. Now, one thing I learned is that one woman can never satisfy them. Men bed whomever they want to. And I, myself would like to avoid that happening as much as possible, until I become the legitimate queen, a king for me, of course. You know this, dear sister." She stopped and leaned in front of her friend who gave her a rested sigh.
