"This will scar, princess," Mysaria pulled the needle, making Rhaenyra hiss in pain, "But it will heal." the lady continued.

Rhaenyra bit her lower lip as Mysaria stitched her wounded shoulder that a knightguard accidentally hit through. Mysaria eyed her for a second, "Hold still, princess."

"Hold still? It fucking stings!" the Targaryen complained, placing a hand on her temple in distress using her unbothered hand

"Of course it would hurt, you got hit by an arrow. It was a good thing it wasn't directed to you." lady Mysaria remarked. Once she finished stitching, she grabbed a cloth and gently damped it on Rhaenyra's shoulder to clean the dried blood.

Rhaenyra asked, "Where is the queen?"

Mysaria eyes her before standing to clean up, "I asked Her Grace to wait outside."

The princess sighed as her response. Mysaria noticed this when she threw the used cloths, "You seem to be in deeper thoughts, princess." she approached her slowly with hands clasped down

"Of course. I just got gashed by an arrow, scaring the queen. She won't ever let me touch a weapon again." she hissed in the end when she moved her wounded shoulder.

"Careful, princess." Mysaria reminded. She then sighed, "Why would you even need to hold weaponries?"

The princess slowly stood up weakly, "Safety purposes."

Mysaria raised her brows, "Safety purposes?"

"Yes." she answered, heading towards the exit of the tent

Mysaria caught up to her in no time. She placed her hand gently on Rhaenyra's shoulder blade, cautious not to touch the injury, "You must rest first."

The princess groaned when she got pulled back to the chair. With a sigh, she said, "I need to see the queen."

"Why?" the lady before her asked

The princess shook her head, "That would be no of your business, lady Mysaria." she warned with her eyes

Mysaria's lips sealed, she looked down, humbled, before nodding, "I understand, princess. Forgive me."

The silence between the two of them alone embraced the atmosphere. The princess sat down while Mysaria remained standing by the princess' side. Rhaenyra eyed the woman beside her before breaking the silence, "I heard you were sent here to watch over us."

Mysaria turned to her, nodding her head warily, "Yes."

"To protect us?"

The black haired lady glanced at her side for a second before nodding in perplexed, "Yes."

"How? How would you protect us?"

"I can protect just well as a knightguard, princess." Mysaria answered honestly.

Rhaenyra squinted her eyes, looking away to think. Once she got an idea in her head she looked back, "So you use swords as well?" she tilted her head, her voice was curious
