Alicent anxiously made her way to her father's chambers with knightguards surrounding her. She holds the side of her dress, lifting it up to make it more uncomplicated to walk. Her thoughts are baffled, wondering what more could he possibly have in his mind to speak to her again.Coming to a halt, the knightguard stepped aside and opened the door for the queen, "The queen Alicent Hightower."
She finally stepped foot in Otto's room. Alicent rubbed her arm gently, awaiting to meet her father's eyes who turned around to face her.
"Your grace," He spoke. One arm on his chest while his elbow rests on it and his hand currently half covers his mouth. The sun from the outside illuminates through Otto's dark green cover as he stands before it.
Alicent took a step forward after hearing the knightguard close the door to give them both privacy. Otto finally turned his whole body to her direction before sighing and dropping his hands down to his side, as soon as he did, he then approached his table without a word. Alicent watched him nervously, unsure of what he's doing and why he had called her.
Otto grabbed a few pieces of paper, arranging it before speaking, "I have discovered something alarming," The sound of papers being shuffled then sooner followed. "Regarding the princess Rhaenyra." He looked up to her.
Alicent's breath hitched. She felt her whole body tensed, an electric shock of wave ran through her spine until it paralyzed the rest of her body. She couldn't move. She couldn't breathe— for she thinks that if she exhales— everything is done for.
Otto looked back down to the papers he's arranging, "I am very downhearted. As sick as a parrot." The way he said the last sentence through his teeth in an irritated manner has made the queen flinch. She was trembling.
He couldn't have possibly found out, could he?
Her father grabbed a scroll before approaching his daughter with a stern look she couldn't quite understand. She slowly lifted her chin up while breathing heavily as she maintained eye contact with Otto.
Otto tilted his head and lifted his hand while holding an opened scroll, gesturing her to take it. Alicent suspiciously looked down without moving an inch before looking back into her father's eyes for a second. She finally took it from his hand, unfolding it properly and looking down to read, her hands trembling.
Otto watched her carefully, waiting for her reaction. And as he was expecting— Alicent's brows furrowed, her lips slightly parting as she reads the letter. "What is this?" She looked up to her father.
Otto took the scroll from her hand before approaching his table and sitting on his chair, "I always knew there was something between her and that boy. I am already writing a formal letter to inform the king."
The queen's fear earlier did not leave, but it was heightened, only this time the reason is different. "How did you get this?" She shook her head, her eyes widened.
"I was informed by that young boy, Delmon." He answered
"And you believed him?" A sense of disbelief could be heard through the Queen Alicent's voice.
"He's from our city, in a place full of strangers, we have to trust our kind." He spat.
"The place you're referring to as full of strangers is my home now too." Alicent fought back. Otto stared at her with a bore expression. She regained her composure before speaking lowly, "Now tell me... are you certain?"
