The day continued with Alicent and Rhaenyra distancing themselves from the crowd to a much more soothing area where no one is around; just the two of them, the breeze of the wind, the sun, and the grass. They both walked on a grass field where it ends above the sea.
"So, if you haven't made any babe yet with father— then does that mean that the throne is still mine to claim?" the princess asked as they both walked.
Alicent sighed with a nod, following the princess' footsteps, "That is correct— Although I believe that the council will start encouraging us again to create at once for the goodness of the realm." she brushed a strand of her red hair behind her ear as the wind washed over them. "I speculate sooner or later they will start mentioning it again at court." she added with a weary tone.
Rhaenyra sealed her mouth for a second and then coming to halt before the edge of the ground they were stepping on. Her purple eyes wandered over the blue sea as the water moved without sync of the wave. "I believe so too..."
Alicent watched her from behind before taking a step to the princess' level, "It's what they think as a must." she, too, watched the waves of the sea; taking her time to think.
"It is, is it?" she finally glanced at the queen who stood beside her, giving the redhead a small broken smile before turning around to start walking again. Alicent followed her again with a desperate look. "He can't even defend himself from the small council," Rhaenyra huffed bitterly while her eyes are glued to the grass beneath them.
"I am certain they only want what's for the best." Alicent stated. Truly, she doesn't know what to say anymore good for Rhaenyra. Even as Queen; she couldn't do anything to solace the princess' feeling. Even as Queen of the Targaryen house; she still feels she's below the small council members and her own father.

The silver head scoffed and shook her head before her eyes had caught something from a distance. Her bitter demeanor slowly softened at the sight of a white and fluffy dog. Her head tilted in confusion for a moment, but her lips were stretched otherwise. Rhaenyra's curiosity won the best of her and she immediately approached it with no hesitance; confusing the Queen who has yet seen what the princess did.
"Where are you going?" Alicent asked, but the princess ignored the queen and continued her way to the Samoyed dog, standing all alone in the middle of the grassy field; watching her with its tongue out.
Once the princess has reached the animal she knelt with a wide smile on her face as if she had forgotten the topic that she was discussing with Alicent who followed her with a frown on her face until she, too, spotted the dog that Rhaenyra now currently pets. Her face fell slowly in surprise before slowly getting closer to both of them.
"Well aren't you a rare one?" Alicent squatted to take a closer look. Her eyes held adoration and amusement at the sight.
"What are you doing out here alone?" the princess asked without the smile leaving her face. She continues to caress the dog's fur while the dog shows no resentment from Rhaenyra's touch. "You're dirty," she mumbles with a frown, leaning to the side to observe the dog. The dog made a safe whimper.
"She is..." the queen mumbles back in agreement, her eyes are still glued to the animal, observing it in silence. She thought for a moment about something that would be completely out of her character but would still do for Rhaenyra. She hesitated for a moment before blurting, "What do you say we take this dog back and you take care of it?"
The suggestion made the princess swiftly turn her head towards the queen who was already looking at her through her lashes, awaiting any good sign from the princess' reaction. Rhaenyra's face was dumbfounded, surprised by the question that the queen asked, "Really?" her tone holds excitement and is skeptical
Alicent nodded casually like it was no big deal, "Yes,"
Rhaenyra frowns in confusion, but her lips are tugged upwards, "You're suggesting we steal a dog?"
"We're not stealing anything," the queen replied back. She watched as Rhaenyra carefully picked the Samoyed up into her chest before standing up, following her action, Alicent rose from her squat.
the princess started stepping a foot forward, one after another. "We saw a lonely dog; standing in the middle of this lonely field with no certainty if it has an owner or not and you suggest that we take it back to the Hightower?"
"It's a rare breed. Dirty, and all alone. It certainly has no owners— and even if it did then they probably don't want it. Look at it—" Alicent nodded her head towards the Samoyed in the princess' arms who showed no protest to the touch, "It's all covered in dust and coal. Who would treat such a rare breed?"
The princess followed her gaze and playfully pouted at the dog, "I'll bathe you myself, don't worry." she cooed towards the animal while Alicent watched the princess with a small smile playing on her lips that even she was unaware of.
Once they reached the tower, they were greeted by the three ladies who held a smile at the sight of the dog, "What a remarkable sight! Hello," lady Linda greeted the dog who's on Rhaenyra's arms,
"It's alright, they are friends. Say hello," she mumbles as if the dog could understand.
"Does it have a name, princess?" lady Merla asked. The question had Rhaenyra's interest even more piqued. She hummed in realization that the animal she holds needs a name. With a sudden move that surprised the four ladies, she raised the dog up and checked from underneath before bringing it back down to her chest.
"Well since it's a girl—" she quickly turned her head to Alicent, "Do you have any names in mind, your grace?"
Alicent, who was still processing the odd behavior that the princess had done with her mouth slightly open, regained her composure before replying, "I-I wouldn't know, I'm bad at naming.." with this, Rhaenyra raised a brow before looking back at the dog,
"Well it's our dog, haven't you got any ideas?" she frowned as she observes the samoyed, clearly disappointed as she holds a pout while petting the creature she holds.
Alicent's brows knitted together, "Ours? " she had thought once again for a moment awkwardly while their three ladies-in-waiting awaited and watched them with hopeful and excited eyes. The redhead's eyes darted to many spots nervously before speaking, "W-well you could name it after you..."
Hearing the most ridiculous name suggestion— Rhaenyra rolled her eyes and groaned before she began walking, "Ugh, forget it— you truly are hopeless with this, your grace." she left the four ladies behind her dumbfounded as they watched her walk through the hallway with her and Alicent's dog.
It took the queen awhile to process what just happened before she quickly snapped out of her daze. "Um, ex-excuse— I shall be on my way," She mumbled and stuttered. Alicent nervously met her ladies-in-waiting's eyes who are just as confused as her before grabbing the sides of her dress and rushing towards the princess' direction, cursing herself mentally for how she reacted just seconds ago and for how making the princess react.
At least now she took a mental note for herself; never suggest to name their dogs after their owners.
