Day: Wednesday
Time: 2PM
Place: Living Room

I was just chilling on the sofa studying information about Tupac off of my phone while listening to "Sky's The Limit" by The Notorious B.I.G. Very good combination. Then Bre threw a pillow at me. I took off my headphones and placed them around my neck. "What the hell?!"

Bre: (handing me a box) "This for you. It was delivered here."

I sat up on the sofa and she sat next to me. I opened it and there was a card with some keys in it.

"What the hell?" I guess the other key is an extra. I flipped the note over to see directions to Skyline Apartments. "Bre...?"

Bre: "Dang, Jac."
Toya: "I can't believe him.."
Bre: "Come on girl. We gotta go check out this apartment."

We left in her car and started driving. Why Jac, why? I didn't like him spending money on me when we were in high school, more less now. We pulled up to the building and went inside. I walked over to the desk. "Hi..I'm LaToya Williams."

Bellman: "Oh.. Ms. Williams, you're here. Room 1401. You have your keys right?"
Toya: "Yes."
Bellman: "Go right on up the elevator. You should have your key code too."

I nodded and went towards the elevator with Bre following behind even though I have no idea what key code he's talking about. I looked at the paper and saw a key code in the corner. We got in the elevator and put in the code which took us directly to the apartment. The doors opened and dang. "I am never gonna be able to repay him for all this."

Bre: "Dayum. Can I look around?"
Toya: "Yeah sure."

Just as I walked into the kitchen, my phone rang. I answered it even though it's an unknown number. "Hello?"

Jac: "Hey. Did you get my gift?"
Toya: "Yes but why?"
Jac: "You said you didn't wanna be a burden on Bre so I did this."
Toya: "Yes but I wanted to make the money on my own."
Jac: "Toya..."
Toya: "Jac, thank you so much. But I don't know how to accept all this. How much did this cost?"
Jac: "Not much."
Toya: "Liar."
Jac: "I'm not telling you. Are you at the apartment?"
Toya: "Yeah."
Jac: "Okay. I just picked up the twins..I'll bring them over. Stay put."
Toya: "Okay."

I hung up and went to find Bre. She was laying down in the master bedroom.

Bre: "Dang, this bed feels good."
Toya: (laughing)
Bre: "So are you gonna stay here or not accept it like the stubborn girl you are?"
Toya: "I don't know."
Bre: "Well you need to know so you can get your stuff from Tevin."
Toya: "He has my stuff?"
Bre: "Yeah. He packed them up when you left for rehab. Trey has been using your jeep."
Toya: (laughing) "Wow."
Bre: "Ready to go?"
Toya: "Jac is bringing the twins here."
Bre: "Alright but is Jac gon' get me an apartment next? Cause watching them kids ain't easy.. Alana got a smart mouth and Alisa likes to walk in my heels."
Toya: (laughing) "I can't believe I missed out on all that."
Bre: "Don't worry....You'll catch up."
Toya: "I hope so."

I heard the elevator doors close so I guess they're here. We walked out front to see the twins in their school uniform and Jac standing behind them. They ran over to me and I hugged them. "Hey babies."

Twins: "Mommy!"
Toya: (pulling away) "How was school?"
Alana: "Lisa's got a boyfriend."
Toya: (looking at Lisa) "We gon' talk about that later."
Alisa: (looking down, grinning)
Toya: (kissing their foreheads) "What bout you, boo?" (to Alana)
Alana: "The teacher keeps yelling at me."
Alisa: "Because you keep yelling at my friends."
Alana: "Cause they stepped on my J's during P.E.!"
Toya: (laughing)

They ran over Bre and Jac walked up to me, helping me up from my crouch position. He hugged me tight and I whispered in his ear. "You still got a lot of explaining to do."

Jac: (pulling away) "Trust me, I know."
