Funeral || What Happened

POV: Toya's
Day: Saturday (a week and three days later)
Time: 10:45AM
Place: Church

I sat down in the very front bench of the church next to Jac. Alana is between Jac and I. Alisa is between me and DaWayne. A few tears rolled down my cheek as Rina spoke about mom on the stage.

As she walked down, it was my time to go up. I walked up onto the stage and grabbed a mic. "Morning."

Church: "Morning."

"I know I'm supposed to talk about my loving mother but I'm just gonna sing.." The church started clapping. I began singing "I Look To You" by Whitney Houston. Half-way through the song, I started crying and Rina was screaming while crying. Daniel held her in his arms.

When I finished singing, Jac held my hand and helped me off the stage. I sat down quietly with tears rolling down my cheeks during the rest of the service.

POV: Toya's
Day: Saturday
Time: 1PM
Place: Graveyard

After the grave-side service, I stayed behind looking at the coffin as it slowly went into the ground. I felt arms wrap around my waist. I looked through the corner of my eye to see Jac. "I'm..I'm gonna miss her."

Jac: "We all will." (kissing my cheek)
Toya: "My feet hurt..How long have I been standing here?
Jac: (laughing) "About an hour. The twins left with DaWayne. They fell asleep after the first 30 minutes."
Toya: "Oh."
Jac: "Wanna go home?"

I nodded my head and he grabbed my hand, leading me back to the car.

POV: Jazmine's
Day: Tuesday a week and four days before
Time: 3PM
Place: Home

I walked into the house carrying groceries. I closed the door behind myself and locked it. I went into the kitchen and unpacked the groceries. I went through the voicemails on the phone, then noticed the kitchen door was open. Oh no..Please Lord, tell me this is not about that note.

I ran out of the kitchen and checked the house. All clear, I think. I went downstairs about to call the police when a gun was pointed to my head.

?: "B-***! Didn't I send you the note?! You don't get it huh?!"
Jazmine: "Please..Why are you doing this?!"
?: "Your daughter and her boyfriend ruined my cousin, Zonnique's life! Now I'm gonna take you away from their's!"
Jazmine: "No please!"

He moved the gun and shot me in my lower abdomen. I fell to the floor.

?: "Say good night, b-***."

He pulled the trigger and I was gone.
