A Short Visit

POV: Jac's
Day: Monday
Time: 10:15AM
Place: Driving

Right now, I'm in the Escalade with the twins driving to see Zonnique. She got out of prison about 5 months ago and since Christmas is tomorrow, I've decided to let them see her. I hope this goes well because they have no idea where they're going.

Alisa: "Daddy, where are we going?"
Jac: "Wait and see."
Alisa: "Okay." (goes back to playing on her Nintendo)
Alana: (staring out of the window)

"Lana, you okay?" She looked at me and I could see the tears rolling down her face. She quickly wiped away her tears. I guess she saw the shocked reaction on my face. "What's wrong?"

Alana: "Daddy, why don't you like me?"
Alisa: "Because you act like a boy!"
Alana: (getting attitude) "I (pointing to her self) wasn't (shaking her finger in a no motion) talking (doing the talking motion with her hand) to you." (pointing at Alisa)
Alisa: (rolling her eyes)
Jac: "I do like you, Lana. It's just that you didn't have to lie to get my attention."
Alana: "I didn't lie!"
Jac: "You and your mommy lied."
Alisa: "Is that why you two aren't together?"
Jac: "Something like that."
Alisa: (feeling guilty)
Alana: "So it's my fault?" (crying)
Alisa: (crying) "No, it's mine."
Jac: "What?"
Alisa: "They didn't lie. I did. I broke Lana's Nintendo and lied."
Jac: "Alisa, why?"
Alisa: "Because I was still mad."

They're little argument lead to this. Like forreal? "Apologize to Alana, now."

Alisa: "I'm sorry, Lana."
Alana: "It's okay. But what about mommy?"
Jac: "I have to talk to her." (pulling up to Zonnique's house)

I got out and helped the twins out of the jeep. Alisa went up to the front door, boldly. I crouched down to Alana's level and hugged her, feeling her tears go into my shirt. "I'm sorry for not believing you, okay? Next time, I'll hear both of you out." I pulled away so I could face her. She nodded her head and wiped her tears. I gave her a little peck on the lips and she laughed.

Alana: "What was that for?"
Jac: "What? I can't kiss my baby girl?"

She laughed and nodded her head. I grinned. I held her hand and walked up the steps to the house. I rang the doorbell.

?: "I'm coming!" (opening the door) "Oh my God.." (looking at the twins)

Alana: "Yes. We are older now."
Zonnique: "Watch the attitude."
Jac: "We're not staying but they are your kids too so... Let's make this quick."
Zonnique: (hugging Alisa) "I missed y'all."
Alana: "Oh really?"
Zonnique: (reaching to hug Alana) "Is you jealous or something, lil girl?"
Alana: (fake laugh) "Haha.. No." (pushing her arms away)

I laughed. I'm not surprised. "Well, it was nice seeing you."

Zonnique: "How's everybody?"
Jac: "They're fine. Girls, say bye."
Alana: "Merry Christmas, bat lady."
Jac: (laughing)
Zonnique: "Watch your mouth..I can still whoop yo a-"
Jac: "Zonnique!"
Alisa: "Buh-bye."

I held their hands and walked back to the Escalade. If she thinks we were staying here she was wrong. Just a short visit.
