Kol walked into his room where he saw Layla sat on the bed. "Love what is it" Kol asked as he went to Layla.
"Is it your brothers or is it the coming back to life thing" Kol asked worried seeing her just staring off into space.
"Hey, talk to me you been like this since I went to get you some bloods please don't tell me you're going to die again I can't do that again" Kol said and Layla finally looked at him.
"No, no" Layla told him and Kol let out a breath of relief.
"Do you miss your brothers hey you were the one who asked to stay here for a while to master your new abilities preferably I wish we could've skipped the using the scream as a weapon part" Kol said.
"Sorry but if it helps, I'm getting better at it" Layla said and Kol smiled. "Seriously what's on your mind" Kol asked.
"I asked Stefan to bring me my dad's journals, and I've been reading them nonstop ever since I came back" Layla said. "Why have you been reading these journals" Kol asked as he saw the journals.
"There's something I didn't tell you" Layla said and took a breath as Kol sat next to her.
"There was this woman who spoke to me when I was dead, she said something and I didn't know if she was lying so I read my dad's journals and" Layla said and took a breath.
"Hey, it's okay I'm right here take your time love" Kol said seeing Layla struggling.
"Lily Salvatore is not my mother I am the daughter of Giuseppe and some woman he got pregnant he wouldn't even name I'm the product of an affair" Layla said.
"What" Kol said, and Layla shown him the journal entry.
"Whoever my mother is or was she was like me a banshee unfortunately she died shortly after my birth, and I think she is the woman who spoke to me when I was dead, she told me it wasn't my time" Layla said.
Kol saw how upset Layla was and pulled her to him.
"Look love I know we haven't been together wrong but the short moment when I thought I lost you for good was the worst moment of my life I promise you as long as you have me, we can get through anything" Kol said.
"Are you okay" Kol asked. "My dad lied to me my entire life and he hit me over and over and I think it's because I'm the product of his affair" Layla said.
"It's his loss okay he's not worth your thoughts do you need a distraction I can be pretty good at those" Kol said causing Layla to smile.
"Yeah" Layla said and Kol smiled and kissed Layla.

There was a knock on the door of Kol's bedroom and Layla looked up seeing Klaus. "You just missed Kol" Layla said as Klaus walked in.
"I know I just passed him" Klaus said and Layla nodded. "He told me what you told him" Klaus said as Layla stayed silent. "It's not really a secret" Layla said.
"Listen I know we haven't our differences but coming from someone who also was born out of affair I believe you and I may have more in common than you think I know a little bit about what you're experiencing" Klaus said and Layla sighed.
"How do I get past it I mean how do I get past the fact that everything I thought I knew about my family was a lie" Layla asked.
"With time but not everything you knew was a lie your brothers are still your brothers their still your family that will never change" Klaus said.
"And what about my dad he beat me because of his affair my mother died, and he got stuck with me and then lied about who my mother was" Layla said.
"Now that you shouldn't have had to go through no one should go through they believe me I know my father wasn't very kind to me either I know what it's like to feel like a piece of you has been taken from you but that's not your fault i understand what it's like to feel unloved but let me tell you this Kol my brother has never cared finding love until you, you are loved Layla by your brothers your friends and Kol and you are still a Salvatore nothing can change that believe me I understand what you're feeling" Klaus said.

Kol walked back in the room and went to Layla. "Heard my brother talked to you he didn't bother you did he" Kol asked.
"Weirdly enough no he didn't it was kind of nice" Layla said and Kol smiled.
"Come on I think it's time you take a break from this place" Kol said taking Laylas hand. "Where are you taking me" Layla asked.
"I told Klaus I'd help him keep an eye on Jeremy and I want you to come with me" Kol said. "Wait Jeremy, Kol" Layla started to say.
"Relax I won't kill him just please come with me you deserve a break and to be with someone who makes you feel like the only one in the entire universe that matters" Kol said causing Layla to smile.
"Okay alright fine" Layla said. "That's my girl come on I had Rebekah pack your things" Kol said and left. "Why am I not surprised" Layla asked before following Kol.
