"Klaus you in here" Layla asked as she walked in the room. "In here" Klaus said and Layla followed his voice till she found him painting.
"There you are" Layla said. "What are you doing here" Klaus asked.
"Kol is planning a surprise again so he sent me here for the time being I would be with literally anyone else but Rebekah's well you know and Elijah is who knows where oh and I'd rather be caught dead then be with Finn" Layla said. "So, I'm your last resort" Klaus asked.
"Well, I did consider my brothers and friends but considering Stefan is on a revenge spree and everyone else is who knows what figured my best option be you" Layla said.
"Hmm" Klaus said as Stefan walked in seeing Layla next to Klaus.
"Looks like a giant snowflake" Stefan said. "Wow you think so" Layla asked sarcastically.
"I prefer to think of it as an expression of post modernism it's my donation to the Winter Wonderland charity event" Klaus said and Adrian came over.
"You said it was urgent" Adrian said. "Yes, take this to the mystic grill immediately" Klaus said. "You want me to be a delivery guy" Adrian asked.
"What I want is for you to do whatever I say without the attitude" Klaus said and Adrian took the painting.
"Be careful with that it's still wet" Klaus said, and Adrian left. "Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves you know" Stefan said.
"What is the point of my hybrids being sired to me if I can't maximize on the benefits of free labor" Klaus said. "What are you doing here" Klaus asked.
"Elena is sired to Damon" Stefan said. "Wait still huh" Layla said. "I intuited as much" Klaus said.
"Which means I need to find the cure now more than ever and yet here you are making postmodern snowflakes" Stefan said. "Or not" Layla said.
"Since when are you so against finding the cure" Stefan asked. "I have my reasons, but I have better things to do then discuss it so bye" Layla said and left.

"You're making me impatient" Layla said over the phone. "Trust me love it'll be worth it" Kol said over the phone.
"Is my brother giving you a hard time" Kol asked. "He's being decent for once" Layla said.
"Good he better keep it that way" Kol said. "Yeah, yeah when can I come home" Layla asked.
"Soon maybe sooner if you let me go" Kol said. "Fine love you" Layla said. "Love you too" Kol said and hung up.

Layla was with Klaus when she saw Klaus looking at Caroline. Caroline looked over and saw them.
"Here to steal Tony Tim's crutches" Caroline asked Klaus.
"I should have known" Layla said referring to a Caroline. "Dickens was a dark man you would have liked him" Klaus said.
"Nice snowflake by the way" Caroline said. "Is my work really that literal" Klaus asked. "You really asking" Layla asked. "I'm serious there's something lonely about it" Caroline said.
"I'm gonna take that as a compliment" Klaus said. "Can I offer you some champagne" Klaus asked.
"Can't too many adult prying eyes don't want to be a high school cautionary tale at the next town meeting" Caroline said. "Smart" Layla said.
"Well then it's a good thing the high school's part nearly over" Klaus said and Caroline looked at him. "If we're gonna be nice to each other then I will need that glass of champagne" Caroline said.
"Okay that's my cue" Layla said sensing the tension. "Don't kill each other" Layla said and left.

Layla felt her banshee instincts kick in and allowed them to lead her.
Only stopping once she saw dead 12 hybrid bodies.
"Seriously dead bodies again man this banshee thing is gonna suck" Layla said and sighed.
Her phone rang and she looked seeing it was Kol. "Finally," Layla said.

"Kol" Layla said as she walked in the house. "Kol" Layla said but stopped seeing a table set for two along with her favorite dessert.
Kol walked in the room and went to her smiling. "Surprise" Kol said. "Kol this is amazing" Layla said smiling. "You like it" Kol asked her. "Yeah, I do" Layla said.
"Oh, one more thing" Kol said. "What" Layla said confused. "Look up" Kol said and Layla did.
Once she did, she saw mistletoe. Layla smiled before looking at Kol again.
"What are you waiting for rules are rules" Layla said and Kol kissed her.

Later that night both Kol and Layla were asleep after celebrating Christmas.
But then suddenly Layla felt her banshee instincts kick in once again.
She slowly got out of bed and allowed her banshee instincts to lead her. Only snapping out of it seeing where she was.
But when she recognized the dead body, she was shocked.
Carol Lockwood was dead.
