Layla was sat on Kol's old bed at the manor staring off into space.
Letting tears fall as they fell on her face. When suddenly she closed her eyes and was focused as she concentrated.
But just as she was about to turn off her humanity her phone rang causing her to stop and look at the caller ID.
Layla saw it was Stefan calling and she quickly answered the phone already dreading it.
"What is it Stef" Layla asked wiping away the tears on her face.

"We're gonna lose her Damon" Stefan said. "She needs time it's only been a couple of days" Damon said.
"Her humanity is off she's basically numb to everything that makes her who she is" Stefan said.
"And a part of who she was, was being a sister but she lost her brother the moment Katherine killed him the last part of her humanity the Elena you know is gone at least for now" Layla said.
"She's a vampire the off switch is one of the biggest perks when being dead gets you down viola vampire Prozac" Damon said.
"She burned down her family home with her brother's dead body still inside" Stefan said.
"Saves us the trouble of having to do it ourselves I call that a win worst case scenario I'll invoke the sire bond and tell her to turn it back on" Damon said.
"If it even works" Layla said. "You don't know if it will work again" she added.
"No, her brother just died you force all that grief on her at once it's gonna overwhelm her, we need to give her a reason to want to turn it on" Stefan said.
"Fine we'll show her a good time I know it's controversial Stefan, but people actually like to have fun" Damon said.
"You really think that's gonna work" Stefan asked.
"There's only one way to find out" Damon said. "Not like we have a better plan" Layla said and Stefan stayed silent. "Layla are you" Damon started to ask and Layla gave him a look.
"Right never mind" Damon said as he looked at his sister worried knowing she was in so much pain just by looking at her.

"So that's the plan you're gonna take her back to school" Damon asked.
"Well, the fun route didn't exactly pay off did it" Stefan said. "I don't know we got a free meal out of it" Damon said.
"Damon maybe Stef is right maybe taking her back to school isn't a bad idea or maybe it is we won't know unless we try or you try whichever works" Layla said.
"Look do you think I want to go to school and play chaperone" Stefan asked. "You can't go because you're not a student" Stefan said.
"He has a point be a little freaky so then again freakier things happened" Layla said.
"Besides you've got to look for Katherine I mean Elena needs this cure now more than ever" Stefan said.
"Not that anyone asked me, but I think taking her back to school is a great idea" Caroline said making her appearance known. "Wow where did she come from" Layla asked.
"Why are you here" Damon asked. "Uh blame it on your fancy water filters your house has the only vervain free showers in town" Caroline said.
"Oh yeah the mayor put vervain in the water supply so many people to kill" Damon said.
"Yeah, and my mom says it's about to get worse so she could use a little help" Caroline said.
"Damon" Layla said giving him a look. "Fine I'll go after the psychotic doppelgänger" Damon said.
"Stefan you gonna go talk to the sheriff" Damon asked and Stefan nodded. "Blondie take her to school Layla go with" Damon said.
"Sounds like fun" Elena said making her appearance known.
"Oh" Layla said seeing Elena was naked looking away. "What it's nothing you guys haven't seen before" Elena said to Stefan and Damon wrapping a towel around her.
"And as for the uh going to school idea I've got nothing better to do" Elena said and Stefan motioned Damon to Elena.
"Elena, it would make me very happy if you went to school today and studied hard you know get involved in whatever activities and please for me no matter what don't eat anyone okay" Damon said.

"Hey Tyler it's me checking in things are just getting back to normal sort of Elena's not quite there yet but we're working on it look I know that you can't call me back but I keep thinking if I just leave these messages that when you do come home it'll be like you never left or that's the hope well I'd better go I love you Tyler" Caroline said and hung up.
"What's she got" Layla asked referring to Elena but before Caroline could answer Matt came over.
"Hey, have you guys seen Bonnie" Matt asked. "Not me I been crashing with Klaus you know avoiding everyone and everything" Layla said.
"Yeah, I called her last night she's fine she's just a little drained from you know everything" Caroline said. "Can't really blame her" Matt said.
"Yeah" Caroline said. Matt then glared at Layla. "Why is she here she killed Jeremy" Matt said. "I did it for Kol, but you have a point why am I here and why isn't my brothers mad at me oh that's right I'm family and this whole family not being angry sucks so bye" Layla said and left.
"Matt" Caroline said scolding him. "She killed Jeremy" Matt said.
"I know but there's still goodness in her I just know it she's devastated just look at her" Caroline said.

Klaus found Layla back on Kol's bed and went to her. "Layla" Klaus said concerned.
"I can't stay here I can't I have to leave every time I turn around; I see him, I see us and he's not here anymore it's bad enough I wake up screaming but I can't be in a place where I'm reminded of my boyfriend's death" Layla said.
"What do I do" Layla asked as she looked at Klaus with tears on her face.
"If I stay any longer, I'll turn my humanity off, and I know Kol wouldn't want that so tell me Klaus what do I do" Layla asked but Klaus didn't have an answer.
