The first thing he could think about was a story a military rookie told him back on his days in service.
"The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock on the door..."
Now someone was knocking on his door and he had no idea what for, but surely it couldn't be good at all. He remained still next to a wall, bat on hand, ready to kill whatever or whoever would dare to come in from the other side.
His heart was beating loudly, and surely would be close of popping out of his chest towards the floor as the banging on his door increased; his hands trembled despite the tight grip on his weapon.
Dan took a deep breath, ready to do whatever it took to stay alive, as a muffled conversation could be heard on the other side. He could only hear light glimpses, but couldn't completely make out the voices.
―Are you sure...?
―... I smelled it...
―... Have you tried...?
Dan trembled a little, cursing low at his awful luck. He should've known better and not touch himself that way, it must be a pheromone fest for those intruders... Another knock followed by a cheerful voice was heard.
―Hey, Dan, are you there? It's me, Heesung and the boys... Look, if you're here, can you please open the door? Its nighttime and we need shelter...
Dan pursed his lips to not emit a sound, daring to look through the peephole in the door. Although it was dark, he could distinguish silhouettes standing right outside of his house: Heesung right in front of them with Potato on his side as they waited for an answer.
―We know you're in there, Dan, so open up before I kick the door.
―Damn it Jaekyung, I'm trying to be civil over here. ―Heesung complained.
Dan cursed softly, taking off the bandana and sighed as he unlocked the door. He opened it ever so slightly, only showing part of his face in caution from danger.
In the street, he saw four men in front of him: Heesung kept a cheerful smile on his face whilst Potato's was simply annoyed, frowning upon seeing that omega again after he left them on the roof. Daehyun looked over at the house as soon as the door opened while Jaekyung turned slightly, looking at the omega who hid behind the door.
Weren't they five? Where's Changmin? He looked at the men and then at Jaekyung who kept on looking at the horizon, staring at the freaks in the distance.
―So... can we come in? Please, just for the night. ―Heesung pleaded, putting his hands together in a plead.
Dan looked at him, at the group and finally at the distant roamers, sighing softly. He opened the door, still holding on to his bat as the alphas and betas walked into the house. He could notice the youngest of them limped softly, holding on to the blonde as they reached a spot to sit down, quickly followed by the other two.
He quickly closed the door, cursing himself on the inside as he immediately regretted the idea: why would he even let them in? He doesn't even know them! Besides, he quite literally just touched himself off of the thought of Jaekyung, how could he look at him in the eyes now?
He looked at the exit and immediately considered escaping, but as his hand held tight the handle and began to turn it around, Jaekyung's hand immediately grabbed it, stopping him.
A shiver went down Dan's spine, trembling a little as the alpha looked and studied his entire face.
―I think it's the first time I've seen you without that cloth on your face.
