Day 287
―Is that it?
―Yeah, it's what says on the map. ―Heesung nodded, looking ahead of them at the bridge.
Both alphas have been scouting the area for an hour looking for it. The bridge went over a river that separated this area from the nearest town to them, and if they followed and found refuge for the night that'd be great. A big group like this is way different than how it used to be when they were just two alphas and three betas, but it's amazing just how much it has grown in such little time. Two betas, three alphas, two omegas and a baby? In this day and age that was a multitude of people.
As they walked back to the group, who were on the side of the road waiting for them to come back, Jaekyung felt a shiver run down his spine, looking around the woods. It was quiet, as it usually is; perhaps it's the incoming winter.
―It'd be great if we found something for Sanghyun. It's getting colder and we don't need a sick baby.
―Already thinking of babies, I see.
―Shut up. Do you really want to deal with Seungho or Nakyum if their child gets sick? Whenever he coughs they get paranoid.
―It's not their fault he isn't vaccinated, of course they'll get scared.
Jaekyung sighed, nodding in agreement. He couldn't even imagine what it's like for them to live their parenthood in this situation. Even back when things were normal kids got sick pretty easily, and now that they're basically covered in filth and other type of shit at any given minute, they're just lucky Sanghyun hasn't caught something yet.
―I wanted to ask you a favor, Heesung.
―What is it?
―I need to take a few days off in the town. You'll stay with the group wherever we're taking refuge, but I need to go somewhere else.
―What? Why would you do that?
―My rut is coming up soon.
―Oooh... Well, that explains your behavior last night, but I'm glad you kept yourself in line. ―Heesung nodded. ―It's crazy how different it is for us to have a rut now. Back then we just went and hid in a house all of us together while we got stuck in a room but now there's another dude, two omegas... Are you going to ask Dan to...?
―Absolutely not.
―Why not? You guys fuck without a heat or rut involved, I don't think he'd...
―I wouldn't mind, but I know how I get and I'd hate to...
―Freak him out? ―Jaekyung nodded at him. ―Maybe he's freaky, I bet he'd like to do it with you like that if you ask nice enough.
―It's not up for debate, Heesung.
―Just saying, you don't lose anything by asking.
The pair of alphas walked calmly in the woods, looking at their group on the distance next to an abandoned gas station. Heesung cleared his throat softly, turning to the alpha next to him.
―I want to talk to you about something I noticed yesterday, I think Seungho did too.
―What's that?
