DAN

When Dan woke up, he was laying down on the river shore, facing the pebbles. His muscles felt sore after all the tumultuous waters he had just crossed, looking around him expecting to find someone from his team nearby, but all he had in reward was the chirping of lonely birds announcing the late afternoon and the ignorance of just how far away he had been dragged by the current.

He looked back at the river, that now flowed in a calmer pace than what it did in the bridge, and stood up to get off the water, feeling the chilly wind hitting his wet, yet warm, body. Is he catching a fever? Why is everything so weirdly calm? Where are the rest? He couldn't possibly have been washed up for long, can he?

Dan scanned his surroundings searching for his backpack only to notice it was gone, just like his bat. He must've lost it when he jumped off of it to get away from Junmin in his panic, and although that could've been the best idea back when he did it, now it was quite counterproductive. He didn't had his bat, he didn't had his backpack, and he didn't had his team.

His whole body dripped in water and after squeezing himself the best he could he gulped, holding the tip of the scarf surrounding his neck as tight as he could, trying to keep calm. It's been so long since he has been entirely alone, as for the past weeks he's been surrounded by people and Jaekyung, that he had forgotten just how quiet the rest of the world had turned. Back then, during the months he was alone and his only company were his own treacherous thoughts and the rotten smell of the dead, he felt somewhat at peace; but now, this silence is killing him.

The river flew calmly in this area, at least in comparison to where he jumped off. He is alone. The birds kept chirping, breaking the unnerving silence. He is alone. He didn't had his backpack, his weapon, his team. He is alone. All he could see were the tree branches and the distant silhouettes of roamers approaching him.

He's alone again, but here's no time to dwell on it now that those beasts were coming closer and closer.

Still wet and with his clothes sticking up to him, Dan ran as fast as possible in between the trees, hearing the moaning approaching him from all sides as his senses got heightened due to the adrenaline.

A monster crossed his path, tall and strong as it grunted after noticing him. The omega gasped in fear, braking hard on his own feet as he turned around to run the other way. The damp leaves were sinking under his feet, the squelching sound of them mixed with the groaning and the steps of the roamer were only fueling his anxiety. The undead alpha began jogging behind him as Dan hurried to escape: without a weapon, he's pretty much dead already, and the only viable alternative he has is to run.

His legs were growing tired as he pushed away some monsters in his rush, panting and biting his lip in fear as he looked over his shoulder towards the un-tamed beast that grunted and followed him in a determined yet stumbling pace.

In his distraction, Dan crashed onto something, falling into the ground with a huge pain on his nose; he had hit a tree. Quickly touching it, he was relieved to not see any blood that would upset the monster even further and when he looked over his shoulder he started to crawl backwards in a rush as the monster approached him, biting into the air.

He has been through so much shit just to die like this.

The omega tapped on the ground looking for something to defend himself, grabbing a rock that he tried to use as a weapon just when the beast kept getting closer to him, grunting and starting to jog on his direction, driven by its insatiable hunger. A loud noise suddenly shook the air, making Dan's ears ring in a loud and sharp pitch as he saw the monster falling limp into the ground right in front of him. Unaware of what could've caused that noise, Dan moved his head around, searching for the origin of it, yet none was found.
