Night 46

The Sky Dome was in shambles. People were getting desperate after a whole month of being trapped with no news of the outside world, low resources and no knowledge of when would this all end.

But Dan couldn't care that much. He had Tae-Kwan on his side, a shelter and something he loved to do: help people.

He has been working at the infirmary for the past few weeks after Jooha and Dooshik left, making use of his physiotherapy knowledge to heal sore muscles and even learning one thing or two about treating wounds and stopping hemorrhages. Tae-Kwan and the few other doctors in there had been patient with him, appreciating his will to learn and more than anything, his abnegated nature, even taking a few more extra shifts whenever the patient influx gets overwhelming.

But most importantly, he had a new weapon: a baseball bat. They stole it from one of the dressing rooms, presumably left there by one of the players before it all went to shit. A soldier helped him reinforce it using some nails found in the storage room, making it the perfect weapon for someone like him. Although it hasn't been used besides a few occasions when a soldier reanimated after dying of blood loss and some other sudden casualties, it was his own weapon and truly one of the only things on this world that helped him feel safe besides his boyfriend.

He was lying in bed next to his boyfriend at the very last night the Sky Dome was in function. It was their well-deserved break after a long shift in the infirmary, and he enjoyed being hugged by him under the nightly blanket. His cheek was softly kissed by him repeatedly, smiling widely upon his care and show of affection. He could barely smell his pheromones, but it's okay, he doesn't need them: they're recessive, they can live the rest of their lives without them.

When all of this is over, I promise you we'll get married.

Isn't it too soon for marriage? ―Dan giggled.

Maybe, but I know what I want, and what I want is you... maybe a couple little Tae-Kwans and Dans running around...

Oh stop it. ―the omega giggled, slapping him softly as he hugged him, his heart beating strongly.

But I mean it.

Suddenly, a huge detonation could be heard at the main entrance of the camp, alerting both of them as they immediately stood up from their bed. Next thing they heard were screams, bullets firing and the dooming sound of the dead, walking right into the place where the survivors were hiding. The main entrance was gone.

Dan put on his shoes in a hurry and picked up his bat and looked at his boyfriend, who was following on his steps. The people around them got caught off guard, having their throats eaten while they slept and the few that managed to wake up on time were being chased down by those monsters.

What is happening?! ―Dan screamed, running next to Tae-Kwan to where they knew the soldiers were.

I don't know!

The alpha ran towards the exit, holding his boyfriend's hand tight so they wouldn't be separated in the midst of the chaos. It was the middle of the night, and the few people who hadn't been eaten alive were making the same run to safety as they were. The soldiers that weren't fighting the beasts were helping others to get into the military cars so they could escape immediately. Dan's eyes widened as he saw one of the last cars get filled, pulling onto his boyfriend's arm.

They're getting in the cars, Tae-Kwan! We have to go now!

Wait, Dan! The patients! ―the nurse screamed as he saw the geeks reach the infirmary section, eating the ill and injured.
