Day 337

They started traveling before sunrise, and so far they've already covered such a huge distance in the past hours. Judging by the sun, it might already be noon, or something around that time, but they don't have a clock to be sure. The warmth of the sun is a nice contrast to the evergrowing cold around them, and even better to the cold stares that go from Seungho to Pilwon, who's still calm and walking next to Daehyun, comparing maps and helping him follow the path to his own camp.

Jaekyung walked silently at the back of the group, watching everyone carefully. In the very front it's Daehyun, Pilwon and Yoohan, guiding the team. Then it's Heesung, Potato and Dan; and at the very end it's Nakyum, Seungho and Sanghyun. He'd be closer to Dan, but he said he wanted to be close to Potato for a moment and check how he's walking, so he'll let him do his thing until he deems Yoongu is well enough in his ankle to not stress it enough before they reach "the camp".

But not for too long, of course.

Seugnho narrowed his eyes at Pilwon, trying to figure what is the thing that he just can't digest when it comes to him when the man turned around, waving his hand at him and his husband. He grunted on the low, focusing on his eyes as he kept Nakyum closer to him, looking at him turn back to the map. The omega sighed, cradling his son for a moment after the infant got tired of the carrier, and looked at his husband.

What's your deal with him, Seungho? He has helped us throughout these few days, wouldn't you trust him at least just a tiny bit? You know he's telling the truth about the horde.

There's something about him that I don't like.

Have you figured out what is it?

It's in his eyes... there's some darkness in them that I've only seen in one man back in Moscow.

Who do you mean? Ceasar? ―Nakyum tilted his head, shivering softly upon remembering that man once his husband nodded. ―I don't know, Seungho... Ceasar had a whole energy around him, one that I don't feel with him.

I'm telling you, my love, I'm not sure what it is, but I don't like him.

I think you might be overreacting. ―Nakyum chuckled, kissing his cheek.

Seungho sighed, hugging his husband with one of his arms as he looked over at Pilwon, still unable to fully trust him, and simply kept on walking. He'll keep a close eye on him, that's for sure: he's basically trusting the rest of the group with his family's safety, it's what he had agreed with himself the second they joined them a few months ago, and although sometimes he's not entirely on board with some of their ideas, this one has to take the crown.

Dan looked at the youngest beta finally start walking as normal as he could: of course it was going to hurt, he's a little strained, but if Pilwon is telling the truth and they do have medicine and somewhere they can rest for the night, it can be assured that his ankle will heal in no time. He looked at the back of the group, finding Jaekyung's stare on him, and somehow he's still thinking about what Pilwon said the other afternoon.

"―Are you pregnant or something?"

Of course he's not, he can't be, but this isn't the first time someone here has suggested that to him. He sighed for a moment, biting his inner cheek as he stopped walking, waiting for Jaekyung to catch up with him and the rest. Last time an inquiry of that kind went through his head he even took a pregnancy test, and even if it wasn't a clear result it was more than obvious to expect it. But Jaekyung doesn't know about it, and if there's something they had promised the other night was to not keep any secrets between them.
