Demi's POV

"Are you ready for school to start next week?" I asked Kenzie. Summer was almost over for her, and she would be going to an actual school for the first time. She's had a tutor until now, but I thought it would be good for her to get out and make some friends.

"I'm kind of nervous," Kenzie confessed.

"What are you nervous about?" I asked as I scooted closer to her on the couch and wrapped my arm around her shoulders.

"I'm just not going to know anybody."

"You'll make friends. That won't be hard for you."

"How can you be so sure?" Kenzie asked.

"Because you are so sweet and fun. You won't have any problems. I'm confident in that," I answered. Kenzie is the sweetest person I've ever met, and I'm not just saying that because she's my daughter. She has such a kind heart, and I really don't think she'll have any problems making friends. "As long as you talk to people, you'll be just fine."

"What if I'm too nervous to talk to anyone?"

"What's the worst that can happen?"

"I'll say something stupid, and then everyone hates me," Kenzie said in a 'duh' tone.

"That won't happen. You're a smart girl," I assured her. She just shrugged. "But if you go in thinking that you won't make friends, it will be harder." Kenzie just nodded. She suddenly became so silent. That only happens when she has something on her mind. "What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing," she answered with a shrug.

"Come on, I know you better than that. Talk to me," I urged.

"Are bullies really like the ones in the movies?" Kenzie asked.

I sighed. "I guess they can be. But if anyone ever starts picking on you, you tell me. Understand?" Kenzie nodded. "Besides, there's always going to be someone in your life who isn't fun to be around. That's just the way life goes."

"I already have that person in my life. Two, actually," Kenzie said softly.

I pulled her in closer to me and she laid her head on my shoulder. "No, they are not in your life anymore. You never have to see them again, and they will never bother you again. I've told you this so many times."

Kenzie nodded. "I know, and I try to forget."

"Kenzie, I don't think it's possible to forget. I'm sorry to say that, but it's the truth. Just know that it's in the past. Don't let it take control of the rest of your life."

She nodded again. "I Know."

I placed a kiss on the top of her head. "I love you, baby girl."

"I love you, too, Mom."

Super super short, I know, but I've decided to not delete. After seeing all of your comments, I would feel really bad for not keeping this. I'll also keep my other one. Thank you for your support and willingness to help. You're the best!

How should her first day at school be?

How should people react to finding out that Demi Lovato's daughter is now at their school?

I love all suggestions!
