Kenzie's POV
We talked throughout dinner about Nick's tour. He said he had a lot of fun. He liked meeting the fans. "I missed you two, though."
"We missed you, too," Mom said.
"But let's talk about something else. Kenzie, how have you been?" Nick asked.
"I've been fine," I say with a shrug. I really didn't want to talk about how I've been. Honestly, I've been scared. I've been scared of the flashbacks. I wish they would just stop. But I don't want to tell Mom about them. There's no reason to make a big deal for nothing.
"I heard you made the choir. You have a performance coming up?"
"Yeah, we are going to do one for Christmas."
"Are you excited?"
I shrug. "I guess. A little nervous, though."
"You'll be great. Besides, you have a long time to practice."
"Would you be able to come?" I ask him.
"Of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world."
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have Nick as a dad. I mean, it probably wouldn't be too different than what it is now, but to be able to call him my dad. That would be pretty cool.
We spent all night watching movies and eating popcorn. It was fun.
I decided to check my twitter, since I hadn't in a long time.
Then I saw something that made my heart drop.
This person was saying so much crap about me.
@KenzieLovato214 is SO fat!
Attached was a picture of my mom and I leaving the mall eating ice cream. My sides looked enlarged. At least I hope they were. I didn't actually look like that, right?
Nick nudged me, startling me a bit. "You okay?" He whispered. I smiled and nodded. I put my phone away, but the picture never left my mind.
Who was this person? I've never had this problem before.
What of Mom sees it? She'd freak out!
I just can't let it get to me. It's just one post. It's not a big deal. I just need to ignore it.
I tried to focus on the movies for the rest of the night. I don't know when, but I eventually fell asleep.
I woke up slightly when I felt someone picking me up. The arms felt too biff to be Mom's, so I knew it was Nick. I laid my head on his chest as he carried me up to my bed. "Goodnight, kiddo," he whispered.
I tiredly smiled back. "Goodnight."
