Demi's POV
"Nick!" Kenzie squealed as she ran up to him.
"Hey, kiddo," Nick replied while spinning her around like she was still five. I loved their relationship.
"Hey, Dems," he said while looking up at me and flashing me a smile. He seemed more attractive than any other time. Was that just me?
"Hey, Nick." We hugged and we sat on his couch.
"I ordered pizza, it should be here soon."
I chuckled. "I thought you were going to cook."
"Ha! That's funny," he called out, making Kenzie giggle. "I can't cook to save my life."
"But shouldn't you learn sometime?" I asked.
He shrugged. "It's best to learn all of that before you move out, I guess."
"Not necessarily. I had to learn when I got Kenzie," I said, gesturing to my daughter, who lightly smiled. "I was scared I was going to burn the house down."
"Yeah, and I probably would," Nick added. "So how are you liking school?" He asked Kenzie.
"It's good," she responded. "Everyone seems pretty nice. I've made a couple of friends. I've already gotten invited to a slumber party."
"Wow, okay, little miss popular," Nick said with a laugh.
Kenzie rolled her eyes. "No, not really."
"Well I'm glad it's going well."
We sat and talked for awhile, and I couldn't help but get butterflies in my stomach whenever Nick smiled at me. I've never felt this way towards him before, but ever since Kenzie said something about it, I've developed a small crush. The door bell rang, and Nick stood up. "I'll get it." He left me with Kenzie on the couch as he paid for and received the pizzas. He came back and sat the pizzas on his coffee table. "I'll go get plates and napkins. What do you want to drink?" He asked as he walked to the kitchen.
"Water for me," I answered.
"Me, too," Kenzie replied. She turned to me. "Do you think one of us should help him?"
I smirked. "You can if you want to."
Kenzie got up and went to find Nick. They came back to the couch, Nick carrying three bottles of water and Kenzie carrying plates and napkins.
"I'm starving," Nick said as he opened one of the pizza boxes.
"Why did you get more than one?" I asked. "There's only three of us."
He laughed at me. "I could eat a whole one by myself."
"I can believe that," I responded with a giggle. I took a bit of pizza and looked down at Kenzie. She was staring at me with a smirk.
"What?" I mouthed so that Nick wouldn't hear. She formed a heart with her hands, and I just rolled my eyes.
Kenzie's POV
The night went by really fast. We just talked and laughed for a few hours. With Mom and Nick both being famous, they have some pretty funny stories from various tours they've done. With all of us sitting and laughing together, I couldn't help but feel like a real family. I mean, mom and I were family, and I did see Nick as a father figure, but tonight was different. I could tell Mom felt different, too. She blushed so much! She's totally falling for Nick, and I just get to sit back and watch their lives come together. They'll make such a cute couple.
"Well I've got to get this one home," Mom said, referring to me. "She has school in the morning, so she can't be out too late."
"I should get to bed, too," Nick said. "Tomorrow will be a long day. There's still a lot to do before leaving."
I hugged Nick for a long time. "I'll miss you," I told him.
"I'll miss you, too, Kiddo. But I'll be back soon," He said as he hugged me back.
Mom gave him a hug, but I didn't really pay attention. I was too busy trying to figure out how to get them together. I hope Nick doesn't find someone on the tour. That would just suck.
Mom and I headed out to the car and got in. It didn't take long for me to fall asleep. I always fall asleep in the car.
