Kenzie's POV

I sat up in my bed and just cried. I was as quiet as I could be with it. I don't know where it came from, but tonight, in the middle of the night, I just wanted to cry. I'm not sure what I was even crying about. But I couldn't stop.

Next thing I know, I feel a pair of warm arms slowly wrap around me. I knew it had to be Mom. With my eyes still shut tightly, I fall into the arms of the person sitting next to me and cry. After a while of just holding me, Mom lays me down across her lap and stokes my hair. We sit there, with just the sound of my crying.

"What's wrong, baby?" Mom finally asks.

"I don't know," I mumble, still trying to get myself together. I sit up, and she wraps her arms around me again. "I just don't know."

"It's okay," she whispered.

"I'm sorry," I said, wiping my eyes.

"You don't have to be sorry," she replied, tucking my hair behind my ear. "Is there something you need to tell me?"

I suddenly thought about the bad habit I had gotten into. Thankfully, I was wearing long pajama pants. I've made extra sure to never wear shorts where my cuts would show.

I look into my mom's eyes. They were so soft and kind. I don't want to ever see them full of sorrow, like I fear they would be if she ever found out my secret.

I brake my gaze and shake my head. "No, I just needed to cry. I don't know why. I just needed to."

"It's okay to cry," Mom said, rubbing my back. "Want to try and go back to sleep?" I nodded my head, but not saying anything. I was afraid if I tried to speak again, I'd go back into tears. "Do you want to come with me or stay here?"

I shrugged. "I guess I'll stay here."

"Are you sure?"

I nodded.

"Okay, I love you," Mom said with a kiss on my forehead.

"I love you, too," I said, my voice shaky again.

She tucks me back in, and I try to go back to sleep. After a few extra tears fall, my eyes get heavy, and I'm able to fall asleep again.

The next morning, I lay in bed as long as I could. I've been trying to get out of eating as much as possible. I guess that's another habit I've gotten into. But I'll be okay with this. Once my stomach goes down a little, I'll be fine with eating again. It's not like I'll get too carried away with this. I won't let it get too bad.

Finally around noon, Mom knocks on my door. My back was faced away from the door, but I heard it creak open. "Kenzie?"

"Hmmm?" I mumble, trying to sound tired.

"Want to get up?"

"Not really," I reply truthfully.

I feel the bed dip down behind me and Mom places a soft hand on my arm.

"Come on, you need to do school sometime today."

I sigh, knowing she was right. I slowly sit up with a tired groan.

"You can eat something before you start," she said before leaving my room.

Great.

Filler chapter.

Seriously, thank you so much for all of your love and support.

You are simply amazing, each and everyone one of you.
