Naruto Pov:
After only two years Boruto has grown tremendously. Boruto and all his friends. Ino and Sai, Sakura and Sasuke, Karuei and Choji and even Rock Lee and Tenten have all had kids. Hinata and I even had another child. A little girl named Himawari. The darling of Konoha.
Currently Boruto is exploring the city with his nanny and two guards.
That's what he wanted for his birthday. Some 'esplore time' as my baby boy put it. I wish I could have gone with him. I'm seriously bored and I want to celebrate his birthday with him.
I envy him his freedom. I'm also slightly worried he'll get hurt. It's his first time in the kingdom without Hinata or I.
I am currently in a meeting with the other rulers of the land of fire. Hinata and Himawari sit dutifully beside me, Shikamaru and Sasuke are also here. Their eyes slightly glazed. I understand the feeling.
Gaara, the King of the Sands, Temari's brother and deadly mage, keeps shooting death looks at Shikamaru. I admire the fact that he dotes on his sister so much but he should really relax. Shikamaru will never hurt Temari.
Hours go past whilst we are in the briefing room yet hardly anything is getting sorted out. If only Boruto was here. He would hold the attention of everyone, doing tricks and pranks on everyone. At two he's a bit of a troublemaker but it's adorable.
I hold in a yawn after a particularly boring speech and check the time. Eleven am. Only half an hour left to go before I can retire to bed.
The doors suddenly explode off there hinges. Everyone jumps to their feet holding weapons at the ready. Hinata, carrying a crying Hima, retreats to the back of the room, three guards standing in front of her.
The dust clears to reveal Boruto's nanny. Blood freely drips down her face and her skin parlour is white as a sheet.
"Boruto's been taken!" She cries. All movement in the room slows. I can hear my ragged breathing. Boruto. It can't be.
"Tell me everything now!"I snap. The nanny gulps in a breath.
"We were in the market. He ran off to one of the stalls and someone behind me shoved me into a stall." So that explains the blood.
"I could see him in the crowd, he was looking at some type of charm when a man dressed in goatskin picked him up. I yelled out for the guards, but they didn't come. I...I didn't know they were dead at the time. I ran after the man. He had put a needle in Boruto's neck. And was getting away." She sobs.
"What then?!" I snarl. She almost faints but builds her courage. She's Fae after all. The Fae don't freak out. They were good guards that's why Sasuke selected them to guard us.
"I couldn't fire any spells at him because then I might've hit Boruto. But I used his tracking stone. The man had almost gotten past the gates when I launched myself at him. I'm sorry my king. It was all I could think of at the time." She explains.
"The man turned around faster than I could process and paralysed my body with a talisman. It was much more powerful than anything I could've resisted. When I could see again he and Boruto were gone. A mage found me and removed the paralysis. Then I got here as fast as I could." She finishes but I'm already done listening.
"Get me the royal guard. We're gonna get that bastard." I shout to Shikamaru. I turn to Hinata and my daughter. Hinata looks like she going to murder the bastard that dare took our son. I need my girls safe though.
"Hinata stay here with Hima and see if you can find out anymore information ." For a moment she's outraged but her expression cools down until she's frigid. She nods her consent to stay.
"Bring him home Naruto." She orders and then turns back to the nanny.
I leave to the courtyard where Sasuke's already assembled my elite soldiers. I look to Sasuke for confirmation that they already know why they are here. He nods stoically.
"You already know why you are here. So listen up each subdivision will split up and search-" "That's not necessary." Shikamaru cuts me off halfway.
He stands there fiddling with a gem the size of a fist. My anger is going through the roof.
"Why?" I ask through clenched teeth. He hold out the gem.
"Tracking stone." He answers calmly. Of course!
"What if it's a distraction?" Sasuke inquires from behind. My confusion must show up on my face.
"The stone. What if this kidnapper knows about it and uses the stone as a diversion and gets away? We could lose Boruto for good." He explains. I can't let that happen. I rub my forehead in agitation.
"The stone doesn't track inanimate objects. It's tracking Boruto himself. His captor surely doesn't know that. It gives us an advantage but it won't be for long because they're near the border. " Shikamaru says.
This is not good. "All right Shikamaru, let's go with the tracking stone. Sasuke can you transport us there?" He nods his head in an 'of course I can' way.
Don't worry baby boy. Your Dad's coming to save you.
