Naruto Pov:
Point slumps on the table with the bloody knife still embedded in the wood.
No one moves.
Oh, Point.
He sniffles quietly and tries to cover it up by rubbing his eyes.
"Point, come here." Sarada orders softly.
He does so quietly and slowly. He hops down on her lap and she cuddles him closely.
"You smell like strawberries y'know." He says against her neck. A few laughs pop up but die down quickly.
A grim smile entertains Hinata's own teary face.
"Do you remember Jusori?" Sarada asks.
"Yeah, he had a broken wing when we met but I fixed it up for him and he stayed with me for a bit." He replies.
"Whose Jusori y'know?" I ask.
"Jusori is my griffin friend y'know."
"Griffin?!" I sputter. Griffin?! A deadly beast that even elves rarely get near them!
"Yes stupid old man. A griffin." Point looks at me like I'm stupid.
"That's awesome! Do I get to meet him?" Hima asks excitedly.
"If you want too, sure." He shrugs. Sarada holds him tightly.
"That would be fun but for now do you want my mother to check your arm?" She asks him.
"No."
"Why are you so afraid of doctors and hospitals?" Sarada asks exasperated.
"What are those? Don't you mean scientists and labs?" He replies back equally exasperated.
I stare startled. That's right, he was raised by the Subenkai. A group that experimented on children. That experimented on Boruto.
"When did you access your beast?" I ask.
"Couple years ago. The first to the fourth time I was drugged up but the fifth time I wasn't."
"Oh." What else is there to say. Hinata glances at me in a 'really?' way and now I feel kinda stupid.
"Honey, would you like to go to bed?" She asks him.
"Otay." He gets off Sarada's lap and walks to Hinata's side, wiping the blood in his pants as he goes.
"Good night Point." Shikadai says.
His face scrunches in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"Good night like as in a goodbye but for night." Shikidai answers.
"Huh? Why would you do that?" Point replies confused.
"Cause it's just customary. We just say it." Shikidai shrugs. "What do you say when you say goodnight to people?"
