Kidnapper Pov:
Breaking the little child's wrist was a lot more fun than I had imagined. The satisfying crunch and the scent of blood had felt so right. I had the child to thank for the idea. But now he wouldn't stop crying. I dearly regretted throwing the paralysis charm at the Fae woman now.
No matter how many times I threatened him he couldn't seem to pull it through his head that he needed to shut up.
This was the oh so important one I was tasked with taking. There was nothing special about him unless you counted his title.
A snarl come from behind us but I pay it no heed. There has been all manner of hostility directed at me today. Mostly from this kid. Who had bitten, clawed, kicked, punched and screamed. Even in his drugged state.
"Give us the child back." A stern voice orders from behind. I swivel around in shock. This is not who I'm delivering the child to. Fear creeps up my spine. Both because the kingdom's most elite guard and the King is standing there and because if I don't get this child to the ones who want him, my life will be forfeit.
The guards and King alike, growl like deranged beasts. The guards eyes are fixed on the child's arm. Ah, they've spotted the compound fracture I gave him.
"What did you do to him?!" A man clad in black screeches. The Shadow-Walker general I realise. The blood drains from my face. I've heard about what this man does to his enemies. The general somehow rallies some fighting spirit in the baby because he's back to kicking and trying to wriggle out of my arms.
"The little nipper bit me. I returned the favour tenfold." I grin with fake bravado. If looks could kill I would be dead from nine different directions. At the very least I know I'm safe from magical interference. The pentagon I had set up days before dispersing any spells and enchantments that come within ten feet. Unluckily, it seems that the pentagon could not block the tracking spell they surely used to find the child.
"Let him go, NOW!" The King roars. Ooh, he's gone into parental mode. I should be more afraid but I know they won't let any harm come to me as long as the child is in my clutches.
The guards start to advance but I'm having none of it. I pull about my favourite dagger. It's coated in blood from previous enemies and hostages. The child finally stills when I press the blade against his throat.
"Back off or I'll slit his throat." I leer at them. They all immediately still, their weapons still drawn.
"Dada? Unel Sase? Unel Shimru? Big bwover konomaru?" The little brat speaks. More advanced then I thought then. The three named stare panic-stricken at him.
His Dad's crying. What a pathetic king. How is the country supposed to trust him to protect them when he can't even protect his own child?
"Everything will be fine, Boruto. I'll save you. Don't worry." The King rambles frantically.
As if.
I'm going to get out of here, deliver the child, get my money than get my appearance altered.
The one with his raven hair tied up in a spiky pony tail scrutinises the situation brutally. But there's nothing he can do to stop the child-Boruto- being taken.
"What do we have that you want?" He asks. I smirk. There is nothing they can give me. Not that it's in there power anyway. And I say as much to them.
"You have nothing that would warrant a trade from me."
"We must have something. Why else would you take the King's son unless he had something you wanted." The ponytail man reasons.
"I'm just the delivery guy." I say to him.
Boruto starts kicking again. And for a precious second I almost drop him. He starts screaming too. In another part of my mind I can hear the King shout out for his son.
"Stop it brat!" I scream and throw the child to the ground, stomping on his face when he hits the grass. A guttural cry comes from above and I'm being attacked on from all sides.
The King gets in a right hook while I fend off an assault from the Shadow-Walker, the rest off the guards stand back in a loose circle formation with spears drawn, blocking any escape.
"Three on one. Doesn't seem fair." I say flippantly. That earns me an uppercut from the King. He starts going all out, throwing hooks and jabs. The Shadow-Walker attacks from behind with a Fae blade cutting into me whenever I dodge a strike from the King and the ponytail man keeps freezing me in place, making me trip at unconventional times.
I growl when a particularly well angled blow comes from the King and I land on my ass on the ground. So they really think they've won? I still have a few aces up my sleeve.
In my head I chant the wind style: hurricane spell. The hurricane forms in my hands before I unleash it.
"NO!" The Shadow-Walker yells. Too bad for him. I launch the spell up and out. The reaction is devastating. Trees are flattened, the walls of Konoha are on a lean and the soldiers, the King, the ponytail man and the Shadow-Walker are all unconscious and vulnerable.
Getting up slowly I walk to the closest person, the Shadow-Walker. I kick him in the ribs, hard. I hear a satisfying cracking sound and move on. I don't have as much time as I would like to slit those peoples throats. But it doesn't matter anyway. It's somehow better that they know they almost saved the child but failed at the end. It's a bitter ending for them.
One guard crawls over to the still unconscious Boruto. He weakly grabs his spear and points it at me while shielding Boruto. In his blue eyes I can see his determination.
"Stay back." He croaks. Am I supposed to be afraid? The guard gets up warily. He won't leave his colleagues or king. What a patriot. In his palm a giant ball of energy gathers. He's too weak to throw it or come to me so he waits.
I do a quick examination of the baby. One of the requirements was that he had to be brought alive. Boruto is still breathing. An addition to him though is a blue scarf wrapped around his wrist.
I look back to the guard. He's standing in the pentagon so I can't fire any magic at him. Hmm, clever move I think. Nevermind that, I was sure I could take him in a fight.
I crack my knuckles. The sound echoes in the silence.
