Rose's foot pressed hard against the gas pedal, the engine roaring as she sped through the city streets.
Behind her-chaos.
Flashing lights.
Sirens wailing.
The police was after her.
She could see the red and blue reflections in her side mirrors, multiple vehicles racing to catch up.
"PULL OVER NOW!" the voice from the police radio ordered.
Rose gritted her teeth.
No.
Not yet.
Rose heard everyone yelling and screaming at her. Music still blasted throughout the city. She knew she was on the news.
She swerved sharply, cutting through narrow alleyways, tires screeching as she took every turn at blinding speed.
Pedestrians jumped out of the way, some screaming in panic as she rushed past them, her grip tight on the wheel.
Gunshots rang out, bullets pinging against the back of her car.
However, she heard more yells of not harming her and wondered if it had to do with her father, Jonathan or someone else.
Maybe it was all of them...
Her heart pounded, adrenaline coursing through her veins.
Rose was nervous and at some point, at high speed she made out The Internal Affairs building.
"BLOCK HER OFF!" a voice barked through the police radio.
A barricade was being set ahead.
She had seconds to decide.
She didn't slow down.
Instead, she swerved violently, cutting through the opposite lane, dodging traffic with dangerous precision.
Another set of police vehicles appeared from a side street, but Rose was already past them.
Her fingers tightened on the wheel, eyes locked on the building entrance.
One last push.
She slammed the brakes, the car skidding hard, tires burning against the pavement as she came to a screeching halt right in front of the Internal Affairs headquarters.
She didn't wait.
Didn't even turn off the engine.
She threw open the door, grabbed the first box filled with files, and sprinted toward the building.
A crowd began arriving as they stop to see the chaos.
People stared at their phones, their eyes wide in horror and disbelief as they scrolled through the evidence.
Whispers rippled through the crowd.
Videos. Documents. Names. Faces.
Everything was there.
Gasps. Murmurs. Then-chaos.
"That's Roselyn Hansley," someone whispered.
Then another.
Soon, the name spread like wildfire.
The crowd shifted, their shock turning into something bigger-rage, urgency, action.
Rose turned to those closest to her, her voice sharp and clear.
"Help me grab those boxes!"
For a second, there was hesitation.
