"Im fine"

Keefe's pov!

His mom smiled and said, "I think that should suffice". Then walking over to Sophie snatching the device before gesturing to her neverseen members to leave. Once they were gone, the bar around him and his friends hands and bodies lifted. I had never ran so fast desperately trying to reach Sophie. I ripped the tape off my mouth and I jumped onto the stage the rest of the group right behind me. I kneeled next to Sophie and everyone else did the same.

"We have to get her to Elwin!"keefe pleaded
Forkle nodded grimly and took out the leaping crystal everyone linked hands and I grabbed Sophie and we were pulled into the light.

Sophie's pov

Everything hurt. breathing hurt. She felt like crying but her eyes were too dry. She woke to Elwin scrambling around the room with everyone she new watching with eyes of sadness. She coughed and then she couldn't stop there was blood flying from her mouth. And when her coughed fit had passed it was leaking past her lips. So much red. And the pain rocketed. Keefe, Stina, and Oriale we're all crippled from the pain. "Maybe the empaths should leave the room. Actually maybe everyone should room"my voice was so scratchy and dry I might never have the strength to speak again. She was looking at their faces of horror.
Then elwin ordered the body guards to get everyone out. Then livey poured a sweet smelling sedative down my throat.

I was trapped in my nightmares which were pretty much vivid replays of the earlier events. (Thank you photographic memory)
With each replay I felt cracks form they hurt so bad. The guilt was to much. She watched in horror as the cracks that she had never even noticed before grew twice and size and wouldn't stop.

She woke up a couple of hours later when Elwin must have gave her something to help her escape those nightmares.
" you were thrashing and screaming"

"What was I screaming?" I asked.
"The same thing you were screaming when "it" happened" cringing at his own word choice.

"Wait. How do you know what happened at...it ?" I asked copying the use of the word it.
Elwin drew a breath before replying quietly "everyone saw"
"What is that supposed to mean"

" it means that somehow the neverseen got into everyone's mind and made us all watch.

My jaw dropped and my lip quivered as I imagined what the Elvin population thought of her freak show, literally a freak show.

"Are you up for some company?" Elwin asked gently.

"Yeah. As ready as I will ever be." She replied her voice still hurting but closer to normal .

"Alright let someone in" Elwin called to the door.

But instead of one person... all her friends rushed in followed by adults and then councillor's and then body guards.

Sophie's eyes widened.
"Okay, so that's not what I meant" Elwin said.

"I'm fine." Sophie said an answer to the question that was about to come  from everyone in front of her.

"Fine?" Fitz asked.

"Yeah fine" she replied pulling up her blanket so it would hide the cuts on her shoulder's.
The motion hurt a lot and she flinched hoping no one noticed but they obviously did.

"No your not" biana said softly

"Yeah you can't lie to an empath!" Keefe said his voice strained.

"Well... I will be soon. right Elwin?" Sophie asked hoping he would respond with a absolutely and a smile.

But he didn't. " I don't know if you will be okay" he said sadness in his eyes "and that's just physically. You're mental state is..... uncertain."

The eyes in the room clouded with tears.

As Edaline shakily ran forward stopping at her bedside and started crying. Grady being the only thing keeping her upright.

I watched with so much sadness and guilt. I am making them feel like this I thought . More cracks formed.

"I'm sure you will make it all better you always do!" I said out loud forcing a smile to try and lighten the mood.
It didn't work in the slightest.

"Alright! I think that Sophie needs some rest" elwin said.

My eyes widened and my voice quivered I started shaking. "N-no. I-I can't." I wouldn't let them sent me back to that darkening mind set of Nightmares the monster was there waiting for her.

"I know the monster is scary Sophie."forkle said speaking as if I was a spooked child. And I guess I kind of am.

"You read my mind?"
He nodded. I sighed. "I just can't go back to it the nightmares. The shadows-I get trapped and....." I stopped myself before  I shared anymore.

Everyone looked at  me with concern and pity. I looked down embarrassed that I couldn't take a few nightmares.

"Sophie. Don't feel embarrassed. What your going through is worse than anything any of us have ever had to deal with and we are all here for you. whatever you need." I looked up and my eyes met icey blue ones and I tried for a shaky smile but it fell flat.

"What if Silveny helped you sleep? Dex suggested. She used to that all the time right?"
I nodded that was a good idea......

"Fine" she whispered. "But I don't think that I have the strength to transmit."
" I will" fitz offered.
That seemed to settle it.

Soon she was drifting into sleep while everybody else went to have a "talk" as forkle had put it.

Usually when Silveny helped Sophie sleep the night mares were chased away but this time the nightmares chased them. Silveny was fast but not fast enough and Sophie was grabbed by the icky darkness and pulled into despair she relived the nightmares again and she was sure she was screaming. Just then a soft cool breeze blew through the air healing some of the cracks and gently lifting her from her pit of doom she awoke to see a handsome blonde boy flashing a concerned smile at her.

I smiled shakily back and asked "where are the others?"

Well... they went to talk but it quickly escalated to a yelling match. He said examine all the details of her scared hand and her burnt and melted arm and her bloody probably dirty face.
"How bad is it, Really?"

He breathed in and gently traced  the part of her hand that wasn't hurt as he whispered you could never, ever look bad in my opinion. But you... I can't believe someone was able to do this and aren't breaking from the guilt and absolute shame they should be feeling." He said the last part more violently as if he was silently promising to hurt them back.

"Keefe? She paused.Do you still like me?"

His eyes looked at her intensely as he pleaded "you better believe that no matter what happens I will always be madly in love with you." "I mean I will never not like you" he corrected himself. A light blush appearing on his cheeks.

Sophie turned red as a tomato as she whispered "I love you too  keefe."  I clutched his hand tightly when a wave of pain appeared in my head "Elwin" I whispered urgently.

Keefe Yelled for Elwin. But his hand never left Sophies as she started coughing blood again.
He sent her breezed as her vision dazed.
Then she heard more yelling and felt a cool liquid being poured down her throat.
