(A/n welp time to start brainstorming ig .)

Sophie woke up to the sweet smell of sedatives. Great way to start the morning.
And of course about 10 worried faces staring at my very exhausted bags, that I had worked so hard to hide!

Dex moved closer and traced his finger over them gently.
"Soph? Why didn't you tell us? We could've helped."

"Helped how exactly?" I challenged, knowing it was harsh.

"Well we could've gotten you a stronger sedative."

"Dex theres nothing that could have or can be done. Sedatives just trap me with the monster, and then..... stuff happens." I quickly glanced at where keefe was sitting on the edge of my bed. He visibly flinched.

( A/n Also I know that this is still depressing but the fluff comes soon I promise🤞)

Everyone turned to look at keefe and asked the same thing.

"What happened?"

"Well... as I was trying to say earlier when Sophie woke up. Is that the shadowflux monster had been giving her really, really bad nightmares. That have left her waking up at night, screaming, and crying, and getting really sick. He looked Sophie in the eye probably to see if I was mad, which I wasn't, the truth would have come out eventually anyway.

"How do you know all of this exactly keefe? You haven't been with her during the night have you? Biana said with a suggestive smirk.

"No! Not like that!" Keefe said quickly a faint pink blush creeping up his cheeks.

"Sandor called me because I'm an empath, and I needed to calm her down with my abilities."

I could've sworn I heard Biana mumble "dang it"

Then I heard keefe chuckle.

I blushed.

Thankfully Elwin walked in to save me from my embarrassment.

" Alright! Sophie I'm going to need any symptoms from the last while. And I mean ANY symptoms. Not just the stuff I already knew."

"Well." I shuffled uncomfortably eyeing the many faces that we're looking intently at me. "Headaches, nausea, numbness, sickness, weakness, shakiness, vomiting. And- and coughing blood." I stuttered at the end avoiding eye contact with a lot of people.

I saw Elwin's eyes widen at the last words. Then he scribbled on his notepad and walked out.

"And when we're you planning on telling us all of this?" Fitz asked. I flinched at his voice, hoping he had calmed down a little about the whole Alden thing.

I looked him in the eye and I saw contemplation?

"Im not sure what I'm feeling right now." He transmitted.

"I wasn't planning on telling you honestly." That earned her a lot of stern glares.

"And besides the blood part was only last night."

"It was because of what happened yesterday wasn't it?" Biana whispered, looking me straight in the eye. I didn't respond.

"I'm fine guys! Seriously stop worrying about me!"

"Riiiiiigggghhhhtt." Dex said dragging the word out, "we should never have to worry about the girl who's natural habitat is the healing centre."

That made everyone laugh. Even me. It felt good to laugh.

"I'm not here that much." I argued.

"Sure foster. Your Elwin's number one visitor. You've been here since day one!"

"Actually I only had to visit Elwin on my second day knowing about the lost cities."

"Yeah, because that makes it so much better." tam pointed out.

"Anyways,I think we're over due on some joyful time. So..... sleepover at Havenfield!"

"Did you seriously just invite everyone over to someone else's house?" Fitz teased.

"Yep! And I don't feel guilty in the slightest! Also, everyone better show up!"she threatened in her strangely soft and yet intimidating voice.

"Sounds great!" Marella said laughing with everyone else.

"So it settled! I'm coming home with you soph so we can set up. Can't have you not decorating with enough sparkles!"

I rolled my eyes, but I was still smiling.

I skipped through the halls in my house glad that my mom was having a good day. I could go to the sleepover ! It felt like I was finally fully excepted into the group!
And tonight me and lihn were going to tell everyone we were official! I was excited and nervous. But I knew they were all very excepting even the Vackers.

I smiled as I remembered all the gossip I spread about them back in my first and second year of foxfire. I still called fitz wonderboy just like Dex except it was a whole lot more lighthearted and teasing now.

I put on a cute and yet simple orange dress, with yellow jewelry on the neckline. Me and lihn were going to match exept hers were blue. I pulled on some gold hoop earrings and a matching necklace with a heart. It was a gift from lihn, she had a silver one. It was so sweet, just like her. It was kind of ironic how different me and her are, she controls water, i control fire. She is sweet and soft, and I'm more snarky and rough. But deep down we were just two girls who are suffering from the Elvin society's fucked up stereotypes. She has a twin, and I have a not so great family.

And then there's the shit against our abilities.

My angry ranting thoughts were unfortunately cut off by the ringing of my imparter. I saw biana who was practically yelling about how great tonight was going to be with Sophie groaning in the background about glittery decor. I laughed. I was glad the group was focusing on having a great time before we all the stuff that was sure to ruin our lives. And possibly end some. My mind flashed to Sophie and how she was the first one to not be afraid of my abilities even though she had a questionable past with flames.

"Tonight really is going to be the best!" I said snapping myself out of my thoughts.

"Yessssssss! Absolutely!" Biana squealed.

"Anyways I have to go pack see you soon! I clicked of the imparter."
