Linh's pov

I knocked on my favourite gurl friends house awaiting an answer. (Sorry soph and b)

I drew some moisture out of the air and swirled it around the space moving it slowly around me.

I smiled as the water abided my every command. Water was filled with so much life, it had connections to everything. Lots of people would be surprised to know that there's water almost everywhere. The air, the plants, the soil, the animals, even us. It swished through our blood streams delivering nutrients to every cell in the body connecting you as one. And the world worked quite similar, with the rivers running through the land and connecting to lakes, oceans, ponds and even little puddles. Which connected to the sky. That's why nobody deserved to be killed that's why I liked to spread kindness from my heart. Everyone has the same thing in common water it connected everyone and everything on this planet. And I believe that so can love, kindness, and joy.

"Linh?" Marella's voice asked. I nodded and she opened the door stepping outside and grabbing my hand before leading me out to the backyard. This was where we liked to practice our abilities.

She created a small flame and I watched as it flickered, no longer afraid of the flames. Marella has allowed me understand that fire doesn't just bring destruction and loss. It brings warmth and joy, and that's what she felt whenever she created a flame. In her words she felt "happy and complete". Which was pretty much what I felt when I contacted water, except instead of warmth it brought a strangely enjoyable cooling  effect.

"How are you?" I asked as we practiced some drills mixing the elements together and swirling them around each other.

I watched as her flames flickered hotter, hinting that the answer was not so great. I smiled sadly and asked, "Is it your mom again?"
She nodded "Not one of her better days." Then she grimaced at her words.
"Im sorry" I said softly.  Then I put a cool protective layer of water on my hand and grabbed Marella's. It sizzled and steam escaped from our contact. I watched as the puffs drifted peacefully in the wind until They disappeared. Then I turned my attention back to Marellla, who was staring at our hands that were still clasped together.
"You know your the only one who can come near me when I'm stressed."
A blush creeped up her cheeks and I felt my ears go bright pink. I smiled and whispered "Im glad I'm the one who gets to be close to you"

Her eyes widened slightly at my comment. And her blush turned redder. I was sure mine was doing the same though.

She stepped closer and leaned In slightly. "What exactly do you mean by that?" she whispered back.

"I think you know what I mean." I said stepping closer so our faces were only a few inches apart. Great, now I couldn't breath right.
She smiled, and leaned in closer. I did the same and my eyes widened in surprise when our lips met. I remembered my thoughts when we first started training, "elements don't mix". Well, that was DEFINITELY incorrect because this kiss was the most amazing thing I had ever felt.
