Just imagine this but like WAYYYYY bigger :)

My breath caught, and my eyes shut tight. Then I realized I was supposed to be strong, and I opened them to see all of my friends and family looking at me with concern, sadness, and fear. I took a deep breath, "get it together Sophie, your better than this." I told myself repeating it in my head until I was able to shove my fear down and put on a small smile.

"Ms. Foster, welcome to the Unum theatre." A small dwarf said.

"Together" keefe translated in a whisper.

"Yes, Together, we will win tonight and we will win and tonight we will become one. Just as the name suggests." The dwarf said staring directly at me with a look of hope that sent shivers down my spine.

"The moonlark is to come with me, and the rest of you are to report to your seats."

"Uh, no way." Dex argued.

"Your seats are together, Ms foster requested it herself."

Everyone looked at me.

"Okay.. I can see your a little annoyed." I tried.

"Really, ya think Sophie?" Tam said with an eye roll.

"I know it's not what you guys want, but you can't be up there with me. And I honestly don't want you to be, I don't even think I want you to see. I knew this would happen so I put your seats close to each other and right next to a door that leads onto the stage." I said trying to hide the fact that I did want them with me, but that was too selfish of me. They already have to watch me die, they don't deserve to get hurt anymore.

With a lot of reluctance they went to their seats and I followed the dwarf into a slim hallway that led to a metal door. The dwarf stomped in an intricate order and the door swung open, he grabbed my hand, gently pulling me into the darkness of the room in front of me.

We walked for 345 seconds, yes, I counted. He stopped and let go of my hand. I couldn't see where we were and I wished I had focused more on those night vision classes at exillium. It also was a pretty big bummer that I was having traumatic flashbacks. Suddenly a click sounded through the room echoing of the walls I couldn't see. Then the light of a room suddenly came and the dwarf walked in, I followed.

The room had red carpeted floors with gold engravings everywhere. Huge crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling and in the centre of the room was a white circle that looked slightly ominous due to its very strange placement.

"Showtime in 10 minutes" a robotic voice sounded. Making me jump 3 feet in the air. The dwarf did something didn't expect, he hugged me. "You are the most amazing person, I couldn't imagine anyone better to be our brave moonlark." He whispered in my ear.

Tears threatened to break through but I held them back, I hugged the small dwarf thankful for not being completely alone.

"Showtime in 5 minutes" the robot voice sounded.

The dwarf hugged me tighter. "I was a part of project moonlark. And now matter what happens we are all so proud of you. Don't forget it."

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Charis " he replied.

"Thank you, for all of this, I can't imagine waiting all alone."

"It's you the world will have to thank after tonight."

"Showtime in two minutes."

I started breathing really fast, I felt the kind dwarf hug me tighter.

"Showtime in 60 seconds. Please make your way to the white circle in the centre of the room."

I practically dragged my feet to the circle standing straight. As soon as I stood on the circle glass formed around me. Leaving me standing alone in a clear tube.

"30 seconds"

I closed my eyes trying to control my breathing.

"20 seconds"

"Goodbye my wonderful moonlark"
I opened my eyes to say goodbye as well, but the tube shot me up and the last thing I saw was Charis waving at me with tears streaming down his face.

Dex's Pov! 📟⌨️🧡

I walked squeezing Biana's hand as I fought back the tears. Her hand was shaking and so was mine, I looked over to see that Edaline and Grady were leaning on each crew other as they walked. Fitz with his hands balled up in fists. Lihn was holding on to Tam, Marella's hand connected with hers. Maruca was clutching Wylie's hand as the cousins walks together. "Cousins" I thought, "I'm losing mine."

Then there was Keefe, his figure hunched, his eyes empty, and yet somehow still filled with so much heartbreak. He was losing his girl. And I gripped Biana's hand tighter.

We walked until the a dwarf led us to our seats. My family was sitting behind me. And the Vackers behind fitz and biana, who was sitting next to me, hands still intertwined with mine. Keefe sat right next to Grady and Edaline. Sophie had mentioned that she wanted her parents to look after keefe when she was gone, not wanting him to be alone. Which was probably why Edaline reached over to him and grabbed his hand. He looked up at her shocked and then he leaned his head on her shoulder in comfort. Edaline and Grady both smiled sadly at him, but he didn't notice because his eyes were staring dead centre at the stage.

Light flashed around the stage and up came three circles holding three cloaked figures. The first one then announced "welcome! You are now all citizens of my new and improved world!" With an all to familiar voice.

Echoes of confused and angry remarks came from the stands.

"Don't believe me? Fine! Suit yourselves." Then she raised her hands and pieces of the stone stands floated, screaming creatures still sitting on them" They started twirling, and then Gisela lowered her hands and they all returned to there original places. The stands seemed to be holding their breath, fear obvious as she smirked evilly at us.

"Now, let's continue shall we?" She continued to blab on about world domination and how the Elvin, way needed to change. Starting with the laws on humans.

"They're supposedly unintelligent beings. Well those beings are destroying the world with their stupidity. And they think they're the only ones that they are affecting?" She was glaring at the humans direction with hatred and absolute disgust.   "Which is why I have a solution!" Clicking sounded through the room and Gisela lifted her hands and pulled huge bars out of the surface. Then she placed them around the billions of families that made up the human population as they attempted to struggle out of metal bonds that were around there wrists. Gisela had caged the humans.
