"So....." Erica trails off. "What do you say? Will you do this? For me, Max?"
A question that is not that complicated to answer to the naked eye but for Max it is. So much has happened in the country of the US for her, more specifically in the city of New York.
The start of it all.
Feelings and emotions she has learned and was taught to bury she fears will resurface. The more thought makes her hands grow clammy and lightly sweaty. But at the same time she feels her heart grow heavy for her friend that is clearly struggling, the friend that came to her to seek refuge. How could she say no to her? Erica has been helping her since day one, and Max still thanks her for it, even down to saving her life when she needed her to, getting her out of the cells.
It might not be something she wants to do, but she knows she needs to.
For her friend.
For her best friend.
Max takes Erica's hands, a soft smile crossing on her lips. "I'll be there for you, friend."
Erica feels herself smile more. "So...you'll come..."
Max releases a little sigh. "Erica you're my friend. A little part of me would stay here but I know you need me and I am going to be here for you. When I needed you you were there immediately, and I am going to be the same thing for you. I want you to know you can always come to me when you're struggling, I'll always be here for you. Always."
Erica feels herself tear up. "Please don't make me cry."
"If that's what you need to do then you can."
Erica nods, her leaning her head against Max's chest as she begins to let her tears go free, Max going to hug her. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Max replies. "If you need to vent you can too, I'm listening."
"I just needed a little bit of a break." Erica admits. "It was just starting to get a little too much. Kendall's death anniversary was just...a mess. Lucas he....he just got so wasted, Lucas never gets wasted he....I don't know."
Max pauses for a minute. "Well I'm glad you're here, Erica. Let's still take the whole day to hangout then we will leave tonight to get to New York. Please tell me it isn't snowing out there."
Erica laughs while raising up. "Nah. We're in Autumn season now, my favorite season."
"Thank the lord." Max sighs in relief making Erica laugh. "Seriously that snow was my arch nemesis! It was like it was trying to drown my feet! It should never be that cold."
