Silence.
How she never knew how silence can be so loud.
The living room of the Villa that everyone stands in is full of silence, but at the same time Max's mind begins to run so many places, going through so many scenario's and the sound of her raging heartbeat doesn't help her stress, it doesn't help the anxiety that she begins to feel.
She has been on jobs with Sabrina, even with her own father, but never has she felt as terrified as she does right now.
"Why is everyone not saying anything?!" Max exclaims, motioning with her hands wildly. "Where the hell is mom?! I want to talk to her!"
"Max she's dead." Rita goes on and says.
Max's eyes become wide, feeling her heart sink and drown from the three words that makes her shatter apart. A huge lump forms in her throat, her jaw tensing to try and control and keep the tears at bay. As she continues to look around at everyone...gaging their expressions...she realize that this is no joke.
And that just makes her heart sink more.
"No." Max shakes her head, her eyes growing glossy. "No...."
"Max—"
"NO!" She booms out while simultaneously pushing Niccolò away when he tries to come to her. "That's bullshit! Complete bullshit! I refuse to believe that."
"Her...her body was found, Max—"
"A body was found." Sam corrects.
Max stares at Sam for a moment, seeing the pained expression on his face. It is rare that she sees this expression on him, it is rare that he shows his vulnerability in front of everyone.
She has never felt her chest tighten so hard, she has never felt like her lungs were being suffocated and gripped to a point where she can't even breathe. Her limbs have never felt so weak, to where she has to plant her hand against the wall to ensure that she won't fall.
"Deep breaths, Max." Sabrina tells her.
Max inhales sharply followed by a deep and shaky exhale, her hand being against her chest. She slowly shakes her head while swallowing, still feeling her chest tight despite the breaths she takes to try and relief the feeling, loosen the tightness that she feels that doesn't even go away, as it only grows more stronger for her.
"I want to see her." Max states, her sniffling and blinking the tears away from her eyes, her arms going to cross.
"I can let Jared know." Remedy replies.
Max releases a shaky sigh, her beginning to look around once again. "Where's gramp? Doesn't he know?"
"Shit...." Aldo curses.
"Max he....he had a heart attack when he found out about Susan." Zayn gets out. "He...he didn't make it either—"
"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!" Max booms out, her face being full of shock and surprise. "How?! Why?! How did she die?!"
"She was kidnapped." Sam replies.
"Henry Creel and Billy Hargrove were responsible." Lorenzo adds in.
"Hargrove? As in....."
"Mom's ex's son, yes." Elio crosses her arms.
Max just scoffs with a sarcastic and angered smile on her face. "And this Creel guy?"
"Henry Creel, Doctor Martin Brenner's son." Mikayla explains. "Brenner was an enemy long before you were born. Back for revenge."
"Have they been found?" She looks over at Sabrina and Annabelle.
