I was so happy when I saw a coffee pot sitting on the counter, I made a full pot of coffee and as it was brewing I walked around the house. It looked so different with the sunlight streaming in through the windows.

I heard the wonderful beeping, letting me know that my coffee was ready. I poured myself a cup and decided to go out onto the front porch.

It was the beginning of June, so I knew the temperatures would already be in the high sixties at nine in the morning.

I noticed a porch swing, and a smile crossed my face. I loved these things. Sitting down with my coffee I looked around. The porch was going to need a fresh coat of paint, but that could wait.

After my coffee I was going to walk around the property, I wanted to see how good of shape the barns were in. I had always wanted to live out in the country and have some animals.

Maybe Devon could help me with that, I would pay him of course, if he did that kind of work. I needed to find out more about him. But right now I wanted to enjoy my coffee, and watch the wildlife move around the front yard.

As I was about to get up and get more coffee, I heard a vehicle coming down the dirt driveway. I stood there and saw a black pickup truck pull up next to my car.

I didn't have to guess who it was as soon as the driver's door opened, Devon got out. That truck seemed to fit him.

"Good morning" he called out.

"Good morning, I have coffee on, would you like some?" I asked.

"Sure."

Devon followed me into the house and into the kitchen.

"How did you sleep?" he asked as he grabbed himself a cup and he poured the coffee in our cups.

"Actually for the first time in a long time I had the best night's sleep" I said as I took my cup and we went to the front porch.

"Good to hear that" he said as he sat down next to me on the swing.

"Are you ready to go check out the barns?" Devon asked as he finished his coffee.

"Yes" I said as I stood up. I had been thinking about what kind of animals I might want, and so far I came up with chickens, and maybe a few goats for now.

We walked around the house and there stood two large barns. They were across from each other, and each one had three large paddocks connected to each other.

As we walked towards one of the barns, that's when I noticed the greenhouse. It was in perfect condition by the looks of it.

"The greenhouse looks good," I said as we passed it.

"Your aunt loved her greenhouse; it's heated for the wintertime so she could grow her plants year-round."

I knew I was going to be spending a bit of time there. As we walked up to the first barn, I noticed a few boards were definitely going to need to be repaired.

Devon opened the barn doors, walking inside I counted ten stalls, there was a tack room, a wash stall. It was going to need a good cleaning, since it was full of cobwebs, but the structure looked solid.

"After a good cleaning, this place will look brand new again" Devon said as he put his hands in his pockets while looking around.

"Did my aunt ever have animals?" I asked as I looked in the stalls and noticed that they looked like they had never been used.

"She always wanted to, but she was always traveling to get her collectables, so she never had time. Your aunt didn't want animals being left alone, so the barns sat empty."
