Chapter Twenty-Eight

For the next week everything went nice and smooth, there weren't any demons lurking about, Tony was gone for three days on council business. Darious contacted a few guys he knew to help repair what I needed with the barns so they would be ready for the horses once September came. Darious and I went riding in the evening around the property.

He also made sure to ward everything that I owned, he even warded our little hideaway spot behind the waterfall, where we spent some of our time together. Our nights were filled with love making and long talks about our future and what we wanted to do.

It was the most amazing week, Darious wolf and mine connected on levels that were awe inspiring. Our bond had grown leaps and bounds by the end of the week.

I made Darious and myself dinner, lit a few candles, and put on soft music for background noise. I took a quick shower and put on my one sundress that I loved.

The color was a dark red with black dragon designs throughout it, it was flowy and it touched the ground, and it hung off of my shoulders, revealing both Darious and Tony's marks. I put my hair up into a bun but had soft ringlets coming down framing my face.

I was putting dinner on the table when Darious walked into the kitchen, he stopped when he saw me.

"My lord, you look like a goddess," he said in a husky voice. I smiled at him, standing there as his eyes slowly roamed my body.

He walked over and ran his hand over his mark on my neck, bending down and gently kissing that spot.

I leaned into his touch, loving how I felt when I was with him.

"I love you my mate" he said as he nipped my neck.

"I love you to my sweet mate" I whispered back as my hands touched his chest. The heat between us was ever constant, it took a lot of restraint not to have sex every second we were together.

After dinner, Darious took my hand and I followed him out to the front lawn where he had a bunch of candles burning and the soft music that I had playing was cascading out the windows to where we were standing.

"I wanted to dance under the stars with my mate" he whispered as he took me into his arms and our bodies began to sway with the music as I pressed my body against his.

"This has been the perfect week; I want a lifetime like this with you" I said as I looked up into his eyes.

"It always will be my sweet mate" he said as he bent down and claimed my lips with his.

Just as the heat between us was getting to a dangerous level I heard my cell phone go off. I groaned as our time was interrupted with the council calling me.

I went and grabbed my phone, seeing it was them I took a breath and then answered the call.

After a few minutes I went into the house and changed into a pair of jeans and a shirt.

"Let me guess, they need you" Darious said as he walked up behind me as I started to pack a bag.

"They need me to find a guy that has broken a couple laws and once I find him they will be sending Tony in" I said turning around and looking into Darious eyes.

How I could get lost in his eyes forever, as they sparkled whenever he looked at me.

"At least you'll be with Tony, so that should keep that Todd guy at bay for the time being."

"One can only hope," I said with a light laugh.

Even though Tony has only been gone three days, and I've loved every minute with Darious, I still missed Tony. He was the air I breathed, and it was getting close to feeding time.
