As Darious walked into the hardware store, I wanted to go get some more groceries. Devon took my hand, and we walked down the street to the grocery store.
We were getting some strange looks, but I would just smile and say hi as we passed by them. At this point I didn't care what people thought. I needed some food for the house.
Darious found us in the store, and he started to load up the cart with what he wanted. I eyed him a bit when he realized what he was doing and stopped.
"Sorry" he said.
"It's okay, you can pay me back with help painting the house" I said and he agreed to it.
As we were checking out I heard a woman whisper quite loudly "isn't that Landy's niece? What is she doing here?"
I turned around and smiled.
"Hi," I said, smiling at them. My aunt always said if people are mean, just be nice, most times it throws them for a loop.
The one woman was going to say something but stopped when she realized Darious and Devon were both standing beside me staring daggers at her.
She turned her back to us and started to read a magazine.
"Some people need to pull their heads out of their asses around here, '' Darious said loudly. I snickered when that woman straightened her back.
After we loaded up the truck we headed back home. We put all the groceries away, as I made another pitcher of iced tea, Devon came over to me.
"I got to run into the city for work, I'll be gone for two days, will you be okay here with him?" Devon asked as he pointed towards Darious.
"She'll be safe with me," Darious said with a wink. I tried not to laugh but I couldn't help it with Devon glaring at him.
"I'll be fine love, maybe when you get back we can spend a couple days at your place" I said.
"I like that idea" Devon said as he leaned down and captured my lips with his. Kissing me with enough passion that a promise was left on my lips for when he got home he was going to ravish me for those couple of days.
And I couldn't wait.
After Devon left I went and moved some of the fans, so they would be blowing some of the air into the family room. I really needed to get this whole house rewired so I could get an air conditioning going in this place.
"Anything you want to do today?" Darious asked as he sat down on the couch.
"Not sure, is there a swimming hole around here?" I asked as I took a book and fanned myself. The heat was starting to get unbearable here.
"I know just the place," Darious said as he stood up.
"Go get your bathing suit on and meet me back here in five" Darious said as he went to his bedroom.
I rushed to my room, shutting the door, and changing into my dark red bikini. I grabbed two large towels from the laundry room and put them into a bag along with a couple bottles of water for us.
I left a quick note for Devon in case he came back here, letting him know that we were going swimming and that Darious said he would know where it was.
After twenty minutes in his car, he pulled off onto a dirt road that was surrounded by trees. He drove slowly and I was grateful for that, the scenery was beautiful.
As the trees lined the road there were wildflowers everywhere. After a few minutes he pulled over onto a grassy area and parked the car. I sat there looking around and didn't see anything but more trees and a path that led into the surrounding trees.
