The next week dragged by, with no word about Tony I was getting anxious and poor Darious was trying everything he could to help me get through this.

He knew I was going to need to feed soon, but I kept putting it off which I knew wasn't good for my body, especially my moods that were starting to take a toll on me.

"This came for you" Darious said as he walked into the bedroom where I was being lazy and was staying in bed.

He handed me an envelope with a dark red seal. I carefully opened the envelope making sure not to break the seal, I always loved keeping it for some reason.

"Miss Tori Dellentri,

You are cordially invited to attend this year's celebration of the summer's night festival. You will also be our honored guest since you will become an official member of our vampire community as well as our newest member of the council. We look forward to seeing you.

Yours truly,

The elders of the vampire council."

I gave the invitation to Darious to read, he read it and handed it back to me.

"I see you can't have anyone with you" Darious said as he rolled his eyes.

"Like they would let me bring a werewolf to a vampire event" I said laughing.

"I know but still" he said grumbling as he walked out of the bedroom.

I had to smile at how he was acting.

A big bad alpha werewolf and his feelings get hurt because the vampires didn't invite him.

I went to put the invitation back into the envelope when I saw there was a smaller note tucked inside.

"My sweet dear Tori,

I hope you will do me the honor of picking you up for the celebration, here is my personal cell number that you can text me night or day, and you can give me your answer as well. Talk to you soon. (543-321-1234)

Always,

Todd Extier"

Taking my phone off of the nightstand I programmed Todd's number into my phone and decided to text him.

"Hi Todd,

I received the invitation, and I would be honored to go with you, what time should I be ready? Also, any news about Tony?" I hit send and put my phone down on the bed.

I wasn't sure when he would get back with me, but after a moment my phone buzzed.

"My sweet Tori,

Thank you for texting me so soon, I shall pick you up on Friday at seven p.m. It is a formal affair so make sure you look stunning, which I know you will. As for Tony, they are still working on the matter. Her story isn't lining up with his, so unfortunately this is taking longer than expected. Looking forward to seeing you in two days my sweet."

I knew it was a long shot but I still wanted to text Tony again, even though my previous attempts went unanswered, I felt better doing this.

"Hi my darling,

I hope you are okay under the circumstances; I miss you dearly and I wish you were here with me in bed, under the covers as we explore each other over and over again. I haven't fed, and it's getting harder ignoring the craving that is starting to develop. I know what we have talked about in the past but I don't know. I wish I could hear your voice, so I know at least you're okay. I love you, your cat."

I hit send, and put my phone on the nightstand, knowing I won't hear from him.

"Darious, I need to know where I can get a formal dress" I called out, knowing he was in the kitchen cooking. He always kept busy with cooking when he knew I wasn't in the best of moods, of course food did help take the edge off a bit.

"We have to go into town for that my mate" Darious said as he walked in with a smirk on his lips and a glimmer of trouble in his eyes.

"Ugh, okay, let me get dressed and eat whatever you're cooking that smells delicious, then we can go into town" I said, getting up and heading into the bathroom for a shower.

Pulling up to the store I looked at Darious, as he looked at me.

"You ready my sweet mate?" Darious asked.

"No" I said as I got out of the car, walking into the store I almost gagged at the amount of perfume that seemed to be everywhere.

"Welcome to my store, Beauty is you, how can I help you" a woman said walking around the corner but stopped as soon as she saw me.

"You are not welcomed in my store, you witch" she said with so much hatred in her tone.

"I am so tired of everyone in this town thinking you are better than me, and second of all I am not a damn witch you idiot" I yelled at her. Darious was standing there letting me do my thing.

"I am not an idiot," she said, crossing her arms.

"Well then prove to me you're not and sell me the dress that I need and want" I said walking up to her.

She blinked a few times; I could tell she was thinking it over.

"Fine, follow me" she said as she turned on her heel and walked farther into the store. I followed her and I couldn't believe most of these dresses were hideous except one.

It was a dark red strapless dress that had a slit halfway up the leg. I walked over and grabbed it.

"I want this one" I said as I looked at Darious, his eyes darkened as he nodded his head yes.

I paid for it and bought the heels that went with it, she didn't seem to mind when I paid cash for it either. But right now I don't care, I got my dress for Friday.

We drove through town and decided to spend some time going to our cave for a little alone time, and I was going to take Darious up on his offer and feed on him just this once to tie me over until Tony came back home.
