"What do you mean they will be here in a few hours?" I said as the butterflies went nuts in my stomach.

"The council decided they wanted to come out and see what is going on and they are bringing a few others with them to check out the area for the demons" Tony said as he sat on the couch.

He was too relaxed I thought.

I threw my hands up in the air and walked into the kitchen and made Darious some eggs, toast, and bacon for breakfast. Once that was done, I took his and my plate into my bedroom.

"You will do fine baby" Darious said as he sat up against the headboard.

"Easy for you to say, they aren't coming to determine if you are a threat or not" I said handing him his plate.

"Tori, we all know you're not a threat, the council is made up of a bunch of elder vampires that are used to things being a certain way and having people accept what they offer. You are the first hybrid woman that told them no" Darious said with a laugh.

I thought about what he just said, and he was right.

"You will show them that you are not a threat, and honestly it wouldn't be so bad if you did work for them from time to time. Your aunt worked for them when she felt like it, she would say it wasn't that bad and they paid her for her time."

"I know, I just didn't want to follow in my aunt's footsteps. I had plans for this place and every time I turn around something is stopping me. I didn't sign up to deal with those two demons hunting me and trying to kill those who I love" I said as I finished my breakfast.

Darious was quiet while he ate his food, I could tell he was thinking things over. He knew I was thrown into this world and he also knew I wanted to learn about my abilities but at my own pace.

Ever since I accepted living in my aunt's house, nothing was the same and I didn't have a choice in the matter, that's what irked me the most.

After we finished eating, I took our plates into the kitchen and cleaned everything up.

Making sure the house looked decent at least, Darious was going to take a nap. He was getting stronger but still needing time to recover from the poison.

I took a quick shower and put on a dark green sundress, and I put my hair up into a ponytail. The weather outside was clear blue sky, sunny and in the low nineties.

Thankfully, I bought a few more fans for the house, some were in the windows, and others were pedestal fans, and a couple of box fans. I made sure the air was circulating.

Next spring I was going to have the house rewired and I was getting central air conditioning put in along with a generator. I was done with not having what I wanted and needed.

I grabbed my iced tea and went into the greenhouse; my nerves were all over the place and I just needed to go to my spot where I could just breathe for a moment.

"We will be fine, don't let them intimidate you, remember you are also part wolf" my wolf whispered. I nodded as I turned on piano music once I was in the greenhouse.

My wolf was right, I was more than just a human, and a vampire, I was also a strong wolf and I had a gift that was as rare as I was.

Watering my plants I thought about my abilities, I knew I could touch things and see the past, or if someone was missing I knew where they were, but healing was something new to me.

It was a gift I was definitely wanting to explore and perfect it as best as I could so I didn't get as drained as I did when I healed Darious.

"We will work on it together my love" Darious whispered through our link. I laughed out loud, I forgot that we had that connection.
