The next two days I spent sitting around reading the books that my aunt wrote. The first book was all about the mythical beings that were actually real and everything that pertained to them.

The second book was more of how to handle objects that were either haunted by spirits that were human at one point in time, or that were inhabited by demons.

I've only heard from Devon a couple of times these past few days, and that was starting to get on my nerves. I knew he was, but he couldn't be busy twenty-four hours a day.

Sitting in the family room, I had soft music playing in the background with the second book on my lap. Darious went out for the evening, so I had the house to myself for a change.

I felt the wind change direction as it blew into the house from the windows, I inhaled the air and I could smell the rain in the distance. I got up and shut most of the windows, except for the three that were in the family room.

I lit a couple of the lanterns around the house in case the power goes out, which I'm sure it will.

Sitting back down on the couch, I grabbed my phone and decided to text Devon.

"Hi, just thought I'd see how things were going, I miss you."

Before I could close my phone, he texted back.

"I miss you to love, I will be home soon and just in time for this storm to hit."

"Drive safe."

"Is everything okay there?"

"Everything is good, it's quiet. Darious went out for the night and I'm just sitting on the couch reading a book."

I sat there waiting for his reply, but he didn't. It was left on read. I put my phone on the coffee table and went back to reading the book.

After two hours I finished with the second book, and getting up I locked it away with the first book.

Walking back into the kitchen I noticed the package was still sitting on the counter. I forgot all about it.

Grabbing a small kitchen knife I cut through the tape and opened the box. Inside was a note that was attached to another box.

"Dear miss Tori,

Your aunt requested that upon her death, I was to send you this box that was from her. She said you would know what to do with it. Good luck."

There was no name to whom it was from, and why did it say good luck?

Carefully taking the smaller box out of the bigger one, I set it on the kitchen table. I wasn't so sure I wanted to open it now after that little note.

Before I could think about it any further, there was a knock at the front door. Looking at the time I noticed it was already ten in the evening.

Who could be here this late? I wondered as I walked to the front door.

Opening the front door, I was grateful that I locked the screen door.

There stood a man who was intimidating but also very attractive.

"Can I help you?" I asked, looking up at him.

Why does every guy I meet now have to be so much taller than me? I thought.

"Miss Tori Dellentri?" the man asked.

"Yes, and you are?" I asked.

"Forgive me, I know it's late but I was hoping to speak with you, my name is Tony, I was a friend of your aunt" he said with a slight bow of his head.
