I made us some iced tea. We went and sat out on the front porch; while sipping on my tea I held the envelope in my hand. Not sure if I really wanted to open it just yet.

Glancing over at Devon, he sat there drinking his tea, looking around the yard.

"Devon, I know you helped my aunt out with things, and I'm sure you have a life, maybe a girlfriend or a wife, or a partner, and I don't want to intrude on your time away from anything, but once in a while would you be willing to help me around here? I will pay you what you ask for" I said.

Devon turned and looked at me, his eyes were searching mine for something, I wasn't sure what thought.

"As for a life, I do own my own online business and that basically runs itself, so no worries there. As for the other part of my life, I do not have anyone to call mine.

So again, no worries there, and I would love to help you around here Tori, I was hoping you would keep me around and needed and wanted my help.

As for paying, dinners, and something to drink would be my asking price" he said as a small smile formed on his lips.

Oh, his lips had that slight puffiness to them that it would be amazing to kiss.

"Thank you so much Devon, I really appreciate this" I said, smiling at him. The relief that flooded my body once I knew he was single, and that he was wanting to help me, the stress left my body.

"Do you want me to leave so you can open the letter?" Devon asked.

Did I want him to leave?

"No, you can stay, I might have more questions than answers" I said with a slight bit of laughter to my voice.

He smiled and nodded, but sat next to me, sipping his tea.

I sat my drink down and with slightly shaking hands I broke the seal and opened the envelope, pulling out my aunt's letter.

"My dearest Tori,

I want you to know that I have missed you, my dear child, more than you will ever know. I have loved you, your entire life and even from afar, I have watched you. I received all of your letters, listened to your voice messages over and over throughout the past eight years.

It hurt me dearly that I wasn't able to respond back to you. There were reasons why I couldn't but that is another subject for another time. I know you're thinking, how is there another time since I am gone? Take a breath and relax, everything will be explained in time.

I am sure Devon is sitting next to you right now, I hope you will find room for him in your heart dear girl.

He was made just for you, well not really made, and no he doesn't know that I want you both to get together, I just asked him to make sure you settle in okay and to be with you when you venture into my curious room. He is a good man, Tori.

He has been single his whole life, wishing for that one special girl that he deserves to have by his side, but he has his own story to tell, and if he feels you are the right woman for him, he will tell it to you.

Now for the house and my curious room, I wanted you to have a home of your own, away from your mother and the financial abilities to do as you wish to do.

I know you have been struggling since you have been on your own. It pained me to see how hard you worked and even your own mother wouldn't help you when you so desperately needed it.

So with all of my money is now yours, everything that was ever mine is now yours my beautiful girl.

No more worries, or stress, I want you to live a life worth living, with no struggles. Not anymore.
