Chapter Twenty-Six

I felt warm lips on my forehead, opening my eyes, I saw I was laying in Tony's arms on the couch.

"What happened?"

"You passed out after you saved Darious my love" he whispered.

"Is he okay?" I asked as I sat up.

"He's resting but he is a hundred percent healthy."

I got up and went to my bedroom where I saw Darious sleeping, I walked quietly over to him, and felt instant relief when I saw the steady rhythm of the rise and fall of his chest.

He looked so peaceful; his coloring had come back as well. I walked around to the other side of my bed and gently climbed in; I gently held his one hand.

Darious slowly opened his eyes, and when he saw me he smiled.

"My sweet mate, you are full of surprises" he whispered.

"Do you want me to get you anything?"

"A glass of water, and you are in bed next to me."

I got up and went to the kitchen, I saw Tony sitting at the kitchen table texting on his phone.

"Everything okay?" I asked as I got a glass and filled it with ice water.

"Updating the council on what has been going on, and I had to tell them when you are able to do so. I'm afraid that they will insist that you work for them now, my wife.

It will be a good thing, this way they cannot see you as a threat with that kind of gift" he said as he turned and looked at me.

"I'll have to think about it, I really was wanting my own life and not a life like my aunts" I said as I walked towards my bedroom.

Darious was propped up on a few pillows, resting comfortably. His eyes twinkled when he saw me. I handed him his water and crawled into bed next to him.

He drank the glass of water, sat it down on the night table and then wrapped his arms around me, kissing the top of my head.

"Thank you for saving me my mate, I don't know how to ever repay you" he said as he held me close.

"You're welcome, and you don't have to repay me, you're my mate, I will always do whatever I can" I said, turning my head and looking up at him.

Tony walked in and sat at the foot of the bed.

"How are you feeling?" he asked.

"I feel a lot better than I did, but still weak."

"You will for a few days, I want you to take it easy. It was an extremely close call" Tony said, looking at me.

"Don't look at me like that Tony, I didn't know about that gift, yes I doubted myself for a second" I said with a slight growl to my tone. Which had Darious and Tony's eyebrows raising up.

"Sorry, just hungry I guess" I said as I let out a small sigh.

Tony knew I was needing to feed, but he also knew that thought wouldn't enter my mind, I was still learning the difference between hunger for food and hunger for blood.

"Don't worry about it Tori, you saved me, even when you didn't know you could and that's what counts, my love" Darious said as he rubbed my back. I let out a sigh.

"I know, just do me a favor please and stay in bed and rest for at least two days?"

"As long as you stay in the house and we talk about what other abilities you might have without knowing," Darious said looking at me.

"Deal."

"Darious I want you to rest, and you need to feed my wife" Tony said looking at me. I could see he was giving me a look that meant I should just do as he is saying.

I kissed Darious then got up and followed Tony out of the bedroom. Tony took my hand and I followed him out of the house.

"Where are we going?" I asked as I noticed we were headed to the barn.

"You need to feed and I want to ravish you and hear you scream my name. We can't do that in the house while Darious is resting" Tony said with a smirk.

My core ignited at what we were about to do, as we walked into the barn, Tony made sure the doors were shut and as he turned around he saw I was standing before him naked.

"I do love seeing my wife wearing my marks," Tony said as his fangs grew. We spent the next four hours having the best sex, and he made sure that I was fed multiple times.

Walking into the house, Tony went around the property making sure the wards were still active and in place, and he also went to Darious and made sure the horses were safe and the wards there were still active as well.

"Is that you my mate?" Darious called out.

"It's just me, Tony is out checking the wards between our places" I said as I walked into the bedroom.

Darious was laying there naked, smiling at me. I raised my eyebrows at him.

"You're supposed to be resting" I said with a light laugh, leave it to Darious to want sex when he is supposed to be recovering.

"I will rest, you can get on top" he said with a wink.

"I'm going to take a shower" I said, shaking my head at his comment about resting.

I heard Darious mumble something about making your mate feel better, but I turned on the shower. After a few minutes I wrapped a towel around myself and walked into the bedroom.

Darious was asleep and covered up, I knew Tony must have done that because Darious hates covers.

I put on my nightshirt and went into the kitchen for some iced tea. It was still hot outside, at least inside the fans were keeping it cool enough to be bearable.

After I filled my glass I went out onto the porch and saw Tony sitting on the swing sipping on his iced tea. I walked over and sat down next to him, he turned and smiled at me.

"You look like an angel, my wife."

"Sure I do, wings and all huh?" I said laughing.

"Never know, but no matter what you are my angel and don't ever forget that."

We sat there sipping on our teas and enjoying the evening air.
