The next two days I slept most of the time, the times I was awake, Darious was right there beside me, checking on me. I could see the worry etched in his face, but right now I didn't want to deal with life.
Sleep was my escape, it was where I could see Tony and spend time with him, even if it was only in my dreams at least I had that.
"You need to get up and start living, Tori," Darious said as he picked me up and carried me to the shower.
"You don't get to tell me what I should be doing" I yelled at him as the cold water came down on me. He was still holding me, not letting me fall.
"Yes I do, as your mate that gives me every reason to make sure you stay alive and to keep going. Even when you don't want to, I can't lose you baby" he said as he held onto me.
I looked at him for a moment, letting his words sink deep into my mind and soul.
Darious was watching me fade away and it was killing him, I couldn't do that to him. I wrapped my arms around him and held onto him for dear life as the cold water turned warm, I felt my clothes come off and his hands gliding off my body.
I looked at him and saw he was washing me, taking care of me. I let him do what he needed to do, plus I didn't have the strength right now to do it myself.
Afterwards he wrapped an extra-large fluffy towel around me, carrying me to the bedroom and putting me gently on the bed. With another towel he dried my body off.
He grabbed a sundress and slipped it over my head, I took the towel and dried most of my hair. I took a clip and twisted my hair, putting it up for now. Darious helped me into the kitchen where he put a huge plate of food in front of me.
I sat there for the next thirty minutes eating everything that he gave me. Once I felt full, he walked me outside where he sat me down on the porch swing.
I could feel the sun on my face and he brought me an iced tea. He sat next to me as I closed my eyes and listened to the birds chirping.
"Thank you for bringing me back to life" I said as I turned and looked at him.
"You're welcome and I had to, I couldn't lose you to the abyss my love" he said as we held hands. I was soaking up this moment, reminding myself that even though Tony was gone, Darious wasn't and he was worth living for.
We sat there holding hands and sipping our tea, enjoying watching the sunset together.
"You know there is one thing that I am curious about," I said as I glanced over at him.
"What's that baby?" he asked.
"So, you're royalty huh?"
"Ya, I guess you could say that in the werewolf community I am" he said quietly.
I smiled at him as I squeezed his hand, he smiled as he shook his head.
"Darious, with Tony gone, will I remain a vampire?" I asked, that was one thing I couldn't remember. The books didn't say anything about it so I wasn't sure if it was made up or what.
"You will remain a vampire my love, those are only stories for the movies and books that when the one who creates you dies, you die as well."
"Okay" was all I said.
"Has Todd been around or any of the council members?"
"Todd has been here every day, helping around the farm and helping me take care of you. He hasn't left your side, he had to go back today to take care of some issues but said he would be back tomorrow."
