"I need to head back to my place; I'll call you in a bit" Devon said as he stopped the truck in front of my house.
"Everything okay?"
"I'm sure it's nothing but the office just texted that I need to go over a few things, they say that it's important."
"Okay" I said as I wrote down my number on a small piece of paper that Devon gave me.
I waved as he drove down my driveway, once he was gone, I decided to make myself a salad for dinner and watch a movie.
After dinner, I kept looking at my phone, still no text or call.
"What am I doing, it's only been two hours, I need to get it together" I mumbled to myself. I needed to occupy my mind instead of wondering when he was going to call.
I grabbed my cell and put it in my back pocket, a flashlight just in case and the set of keys. I went outside to the one side of the house where the cellar doors were at.
Unlocking them, I opened both doors and put a cement block on each door just so they wouldn't close on me.
I found the light switch and flipped it on, the lights flickered for a few seconds before staying steadily on. Walking around I checked the dates that my aunt wrote on the canned goods, everything was good for another few years.
I knew I wasn't supposed to go into the other room without Devon with me, I know I promised him, but something kept calling me towards it.
"Didn't my aunt leave me another note?" I said as I realized I was walking down the hallway towards my aunt's collection room.
Standing at the doorway my mind was at war with what I wanted to do, half of me wanted to go in, the other half was telling me to walk away and forget I ever knew this room existed.
"I won't touch anything, just want to have another look" I said to no one but I felt a little bit better talking out loud.
Unlocking the door, I noticed another cement block on the floor. I made sure the door was propped open, I found the light switch and flicked it on. These lights turned on and a small steady hum filled the room.
Walking around, I noticed a small desk in the corner of the room that I didn't notice before.
Walking over to it, I noticed it was filled with paperwork from all over the world, and a lot of papers with my aunts handwriting all over them. I opened the top drawer and just more paperwork.
I saw a small latch by a drawer, I flipped the latch and the drawer was able to be opened.
Inside was nothing but another envelope with my aunt's wax seal on it. Pulling out the chair I sat down and broke the seal. There was a slight warm breeze that surrounded my body.
"My dear girl,
I knew you would find this letter, and if you are just like me, you went down to this room alone. Which is good, no one must see this letter. There are things you need to know about, things that you thought were only in fairytales, or horror movies.
Mythical beings are real Tori, there are such things as vampires, werewolves, fairies, and so much more. Most of them are around us every day, and we just don't know it. Vampires can walk around in the sunlight, they don't just drink blood, certain people can turn into werewolves and not just on a full moon. The fairies are guardians of nature, they look just like us, except they can harness the power of nature if threatened.
Then there are demons, some are decent, but most can't be trusted. There are two books that I have written, and they are in my bedroom in a lock box in the closet. The key is in this envelope, those books when not reading must be locked away in that box.
