    I frown, opening it and I think my heart stops. Inside is a white gold chain with 3 dog tags on the end, the first one was a picture of Adlai engraved in the metal, the next was of her, me and Carly together and the last read
   
    "To MY daddy,

    XxxX"
   
    Under it had her thumb print on it.
    tears pool in my eyes as I look it over. It was beautiful and I can't believe she thought of doing it.
   
    She saved her own money to buy these for us. She went to such a great effort to help us remember her, not that we could ever forget.
   
    I grab her and pull her onto my knee and I cry silently into her shoulder as I hold my beautiful, precious little girl in my arms.
   
    "I love it baby, thank you so much"
   
    I gasp, Cain howls painfully in my head, he was breaking slowly, bit by bit. In all our lives we had never had a mate, we had never had a kid. But now that we have both the thought of losing them hurt worse than I could handle.
   
    I couldn't even look into her future, I couldn't watch it happen, I couldn't feel the pain that will break me over and over again. It's hard enough to live through it once never mind a hundred times.
   
    "Your welcome daddy"
   
    She whispers back breathlessly. Her breathing had got so bad, but she always wore a smile on her face, no matter how bad it hurt she always had a smile.
   
    I jump as the door opens and I wipe my face, embarrassed to be caught crying but when I see it's just my parents I relax slightly ignoring them and their sympathetic looks. and I kiss each cheek then her nose and head.
   
    "I love you so much princess. So so much, you know that right?"
   
    Cain pushes forward tell her
   
    "I know"
   
    She whispers back wiping her face of the kissing cooties as she calls them. Apparently it's embarrassing and gross but I don't care, she was my baby and always will be.
   
    "Will you ask nana to come over now"
   
    I smile and nod my head, placing another kiss on her head and I get up, taking my chain with me and putting it on around my neck. I go to mum and wipe my face, she looks at me sympathetically
   
    "She wants to see you now mum"
   
    I barely get the words out as I sob, Carly comes to me and she pulls me into a hug and I cry into her hair as my heart breaks. It broke into tiny tiny pieces as Cain howls in pain in my head.

    Lucy's POV
   
    My granddaughter was dying and I couldn't help her, I couldn't do anything. My children were barely keeping it together and I didn't know how to help them.
   
    She had become our pride and joy in such a short time and I couldn't imagine this world without her in it. She was so spoiled but yet so humble. She was a sweetheart and I adored her.
   
    "She wants to see you now mum"
   
    Carter tells me before he breaks down and sobs. My heart breaks for him as Carly holds him. The big scary king had become the most amazing father I'd ever known. He was a rock star and she idolised them both. He was so vastly different with her it was almost comical.
   
    I walk to the couch and I kiss adlai's little head
   
    "What's up baby?"
   
    I ask her, pushing hair from her face. She needed it cut. It was always sticking in her eye lashes and to her lips.
   
    She pulls a little box from a bag and hands it to me. I look to her, her eyes were brighter than normal. She was excited for me to see whatever this was. I open the box and gasp.
   
    It was a heart pendant with a picture of us both engraved into the front of it. I turn it around and on the back read
   
    "To my nana,
    The best nana in the world,
    Thank you for loving me like you do and remember that I love you too. Love from your Adlai.
    XxxX"
   
    My lungs lose all their ability to function as I gasp trying to breathe, my heart felt like it wasn't working either. I had no words to describe how this moment felt, I grasp it in my hand and I pull it toward my chest and I look to the roof as the tears start rolling down my cheeks.
   
    "This is remarkable just like you my love"
   
    I wipe my face and take hers in mine. I kiss each cheek and rest my forehead against my own.
   
    "I love you and I love this so much.
    Thank you"
   
    She smiles sadly and nudges her head towards the kitchen
   
    "Can you get popa Scott to come next"
   
    I kiss each cheek and nod my head.
   
    "Ofcourse"
   
    I turn and nod to Scott who was watching us.

    Scott's POV
   
    Our girl was failing in front of our eyes and it was slowly killing us all, I couldn't work or train. My mind was consumed with our little princess.
   
    I sit beside her and I pull her onto my knee and kiss her cheek. She pulls a box from a bag and she hands it to me. I open it and smile.
   
    It was a picture of me and her engraved into a white gold dog tag. I turn it around and read the inscription on the back,
   
    "To MY popa Scott,
    You are the best pops a girl could ask for, thanks for loving me
    when you didn't have to,
    Just know that I love you too.

    XxxX"
   
    "Oh my sweet sweet girl, this is amazing and I love it"
   
    I pull her into a hug and smile at the perfect little gift that she gave me. So thoughtful and lovely.
   
    "Will you call jaxon next I'm getting sleepy"
   
    She whispers, I kiss her Forehead and set her back on her seat
   
    "I love you baby"
   
    "I love you too popa"
   
    Her nickname for me makes my heart constrict as I push back the tears. I promised I would not cry unless I had too, although that was harder said than done. I go to jaxon and he nods, patting my back and he heads in her direction.
