He places his hands infront of him on the table. As I stare at him like he is a Lunatic. I can't believe he would keep such a thing from me. The rest of the table looked just as shocked.

"So what are you going to do with her now that you know?"

    Carter frowns

"What do you mean do with her?"

"Do you need help finding a witch? I personally think it's barbaric to kill anyone because of a thing they were born with. So what are you going to do"

He asks again and I could feel Carter's impatience growing every single second that passed by.

"What I'm going to do is to teach her how to use her powers then when she's the age to do so she will take over the pack in her rightful place as leader of this pack and princess of all Lycan and most importantly our daughter"

His announcement nearly made me choke, it didn't bother me one little bit and I was actually delighted about it but still it would have been nice to be told first.

The old men gasp, the oldest grinned from ear to ear as the rest looked between them

"Our little Adlai will be alpha of the lupus pack?"

    Carter smirks at him

"Unfortunately she has a mate so she will be Luna, although I wish I could appoint her as alpha"

The old mans face lights up in excitement as Gerald and Adlai glare at carter.

    "Daddy stop being a baby"

She snaps at him, he zeros his eyes in at her

"I am not being a baby!"

"Yes you are, babies can't accept something when plans change, your acting like a big Lycan king baby"

She sticks her tongue out at him as gerald sits up proudly. Carter grabs her, tickling her sides as she squeals in delight.

"Don't be rude to daddy iv had a very long day"

He says, cuddling her tight and kissing her cheek. She rolls her eyes but she lays against him resting.

"Anyway it means she will be running the pack!"

The elder squeaks in happiness before he continues

"oh I can't tell you how amazing this is. Can you imagine all the good she will do for the others when you find them"

I smile at the old man as the others look like they are going to pass out

    "Have you a problem?"

Carter asks them, they shake their heads, Adlai jumps of his knee and she runs to the couch to lay down. Today had taken a lot our of her.

"Not a problem and actually I think it's amazing but do you really believe that you can train her wolf? Her mother's mother never had a witch take her power and she killed so many people, they had to kill her"

    Carter nods

"I'm confident that we can subdue her"

    The oldest one smiles

"Well I for one am delighted, may I go say hey? I haven't seen her in a while and she was always so entertaining"

I smile at the old man, he had grey balding hair, his brown eyes were bright and he was fairly small having shrunk with age but he still looked fit as a fiddle

"Ofcourse, come on, I'll go with you"

He smiles at me as I walk him over to the sofa where Gerald and Adlai were watching tv, Adlai had dolls and her dollhouse on the floor. But she had clearly given up, tired and ready for bed.

"Miss Adlai, long time no see"

She turns smiling at him, she pushes off her knees and runs to us

    "Mr Alfie"

She runs over and hugs him, Gerald sits forward his jaw ticks in annoyance, surprising me a little.

"It's good to see you alive and well"

    She pulls back grinning

"Yes I died and I went to heaven and I met god, he told me so many funny jokes and then he sent me back here with a secret mission. Do you think I can do it?"

He chuckles patting her head as she pulls back

"Of Course you can, you can do anything that you put your mind too and anyone that doesn't see that is no good. I for one believe in you"

She grins at him then points to Gerald

    "This is my mate gerry"

The old mans eyebrows shoot up as he looks at Gerald who looks chuffed that he was named as her mate

"How do you do? I'm Alfie the little Luna's friend from the forest"

Gerald takes his hand and shakes it

"It's an honour to meet you, she has told me many many stories about you"

The man looks surprised to hear that and even a little chuffed to be recognised

"Is that so, well in that case I'm delighted to make your acquaintance"

"Mr Alfie, can you tell me a story?"

She climbs on my knee and looks to me

"When we were in the orphanage Mr Alfie would come every night and tell us bedtime stories. They were so much better than books"

The old man sits back and gets comfortable

"I don't know about that but I did try, those little ones kept my heart happy after I lost my wife. So yes I'd love to tell you a story because I have missed it and between me and you the new orphanage keeper is an old grump and won't let me in to see the rest of them"

    I frown shaking my head

"You should have came to me, you go tomorrow and she will let you in on my order, those kids deserve a little familiarity"

    "And some manners"

Gerald adds in an annoyed tone

"Well when we had them they were polite, kind young people. If that's different now it's not because of us"

    He scolds Gerald who shrugs

"They won't play with me anymore because I have a mummy and daddy, they say mean things and even push me down"

    Alfie pouts sadly

"Well that's no good, when I see them I'll knock them into shape. We can't have the future Luna being disrespected now can we"

She frowns looking up at me, Gerald does the same and I smirk at them both

"Well you are our daughter so it's your pack to my love"

    Gerald goes white

    "Seriously?"

I nod my head and look to Carter who's having a heated discussion with the other men at the table

    "Yes, carter just announced it"

He says nothing and he just nods his head as Alfie clears his throat
